If you guys hate windows 10 so much because "muh botnet", and, why don't we just make a community fork of this? Or just use the registry hack that allows you to continue getting updates until 2019?

Analytics is NOT spying. It's aggregated data. It isn't or is stripping away anything personal and keeping it simple. Not your filenames but your file extensions used. Not your content being shown in your program but the name of your web browser/version. Not your inputs but the time you spent on one program. This can all be very useful information and is anonymized into one big cluster. Anything unique is most likely thrown out.

Why does /g/ get so upset of Windows 10 telemetry?

>Microsoft does not care that a random Windows 10 user (let's call him George), used a particular app for 40 minutes yesterday, or that he installed an app and only used it once, or that he changed his default browser from Edge to Chrome yesterday.
>In fact, they are so not interested in George's individual activities that they anonymize the telemetry data returned by Windows 10 so that it cannot be used to personally identify him. You and I are similarly protected.

Reminder that the only acceptable laptop size is either 11" or 12", with an external display when you're at home.

Everything else is "portable" desktop tier and your money is better spent in an iMac.

Just bought a base model 13" Retina with education discount. I probably did good. I mean it's at least an upgrade to the 2011 Acer I was using.

Alright, faggots. You're going to take a first-year computer science class at MIT.

https://www.edx.org/course/introduction-computer-science-mitx-6-00-1x-6

Register. It starts next week.

>But Python is for plebs!
Well, good thing that Harvard is running a course that uses C and recommends Linux. No excuses. This one is even self-paced.

https://www.edx.org/course/introduction-computer-science-harvardx-cs50x

>But muh blub languages!
I SAID NO EXCUSES. Here's a course that uses Scheme. This one is also self-paced.

https://www.edx.org/xseries/systematic-program-design

Those are your choices. If you don't choose any of these, you're a lazy sack of shit.

Even if you already know the basics of programming, you will almost definitely get something out of these if you haven't had a formal education yet. If we do it together, we can make threads about it and encourage each other. I'm doing the third one, and I've been programming for 2 years.

>>
>>52305684
that's the thing, it DOESN'T have to be as lightweight as possible.

I don't even think Xiaomi still has North American LTE bands on their phones anyway. I would rather get that Alcatel idol 3 chink phone where you can atleast return it to amazon if something stops working instead of a shady Chinese seller.

So it comes with a controller and shit?
Neat.

Also, you grossly underestimate the costs, or lack thereof, when it comes to these kinds of packages. Sure, it costs _something_ but for mass production it's nothing to talk about.

imo, it's very good as a first language and as a language in general. the only problem is that it's not one of the most popular languages, but it's not exactly obscure, like top 30 or so

its good

Ignorant question incoming

So is usb-c called thunderbolt now because apple had some stuff to do with the creation ?
>>
>>52301800
Can someone explain how this works in terms of drivers?

I don't understand how it redirects the graphics output back through USB, isn't there a bandwidth bottleneck there? Or does this only work with external displays?

Thunderbolt has like 20GB/s both ways I believe.

Are there any /g/ approved launchers for Android or are they all a fat waste of time? Talking of launchers in the regular store since I don't wanna bother to root and all that shit.
