The people who preordered it now would have done the same if it cost $1000.

Is Tim Cook a mold planted by Microsoft or Google that is deliberately trying to destroy everything Steve Jobs built?

Reason I say this is why I he making all these stupid decisions?

Like replacing standard USB port with usb-c and removing DVD drives from macbooks is retarded.

Then to top it all off he takes the headphone jacks off the new upcoming iPhones to make them slimer as if iPhones weren't already slim enough. Remember those YouTube videos of punk ghetto wannabe kids bending them?

How stupid to force people to buy expensive Bluetooth phones that drain the battery that already drains to fast? IPhone 6s is already thin enough.

To add insult to the injury of Steve Jobs legacy he gets rid of the beautiful glass and aluminum design that made iPhones look unique ad replaces it with a shitty plastic design ripped off of Samsung galaxy phones.

He either is an incompetent buffoon only hired by Jobs because he was a yes man and for politically correct reasons(him being gay). If that's the case does he really think that people only buy apple products because they are slim not because they are a better fit for people who are into photography and video editing?

Or he is a fucking sabetour planted by Google.

Am I the only one who can see this?

Tim Cook is a business man who enjoys cutting down on costs.

Also... Apple has enough power to sway the target audience. That's how Apple creates industry standards.

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).

New 2016 ThinkPads announced:

If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experienceâ„¢

Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", lightweight
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>They’re really cheap when you buy a used one.
>Keyboards feel excellent while typing (yes, even the newer ones).
>Great durability thanks to the inclusion of rollcages and use of glass fiber reinforced plastic for the chassis. The keyboard is splash proof and spilled liquids will drain out.
>Utilitarian design - e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking solutions that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for almost every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing on the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners.

There are three ways to try Linux, you can:

1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with Linux (not recommended)

If you are serious about switching to Linux and if you have Windows dual-booted (recommended for pure newbies), we recommend you use it exclusively for 2 weeks, and avoid Windows dual booting for that period of time, or it's likely you will start retreating back to windows instead of getting used to Linux as your new home and working onnmaking it feel the way you want it.

Before asking, please find the answers to your questions in resources.

Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly Linux Thread.

Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe wine can make up for it.

Is there a way to completely remove window decorations for a specific program on xfce or another de? I use keyboard shortcuts to make windows use a quarter or half of the screen and videos keep aspect ratio so the decorations waste space.

Why are some people on /g/ still using Windows?

>linux is to complicated
Its all a matter of habit.

>i have software i need windows for
Think again... don't say you need MS Word for school, because LibreOffice can do the same.
But if it's specific software: Is it heavy software? Dual boot, but ONLY for this software. Is it light software? Use wine or a VM.

>but windows just werks
Suprisingly I have to install drivers on windows for things like wifi adapters and USB 3.0 cards. This is not the case in Linux. Also, no OS "just werks". You have always to install some drivers. But it's a one time procedure only.

>lel, I don't care bout freedum
Have fun being watched by the NSA while masturbating. Also: You really want to be dependent on a company for something essential like your OS?

so I keep my desktop on Windows and run Linux on everything else. hopefully within the next few years Linux game and driver support will improve to the point where I don't need to do this.

>Intel introduced a third line, and announced they're going to cease their tick tock development, with Kaby Lake coming before Cannonlake's shrink to 10mm
>AMD can't even put a fight in the enthusiast CPU market, Zen is a desperate effort at competing with mid tier CPUs
>developing smaller nodes is becoming more expensive, harder and with the barebones competition there's less of a reason to push hard for it anyway
>silicon is about to be tapped out with those infinitesimal shrinks
>there's far more money in the mobile market anyway, where they're way far behind Intel's x86 chips, not to mention the entire market pushes for ARM in detriment of x86

Is the desktop CPU market done? Or is just the x86 architecture done? It seems destined to stagnate a slow death. What is ahead of the CPU innovation front? Graphene CPUs?
