The Chinese don't spend money on research and development, it's all blown on stealing ideas. Sure, they can sell a product, but they don't have the capacity to make it better.

I got a laptop with two hard drives each one with a different debian jessie installed.

I edited my grub config to select between distro1 and distro2 within a 5 second timeout and so on and so forth

but what I really want is to get rid of "press c for a command line or e for whatever"

I want a clean screen with two options and thats it.

I googled everything and the best answer was

>This is one of those issue where I think security by obscurity comes into play. The chances of someone having enough knowledge to edit grub, especially in a school setting are pretty low, unless there are Ubuntu specific courses widely available. I'd be more worried about recovery mode, and allowing general access to Window than having the ability to edit grub.

go figure. so how the fuck can I accomplish this?

Hey friends,
I need to place images on a page, as well as text, and then print the result. It doesn't have to be accurate or anything. I just want to drag the pics around, and maybe make text boxes, or manage the text like on a word page.

Atm, I'm using AbiWord, and it's utter cancer. It takes forever to open, the pics are by default imported inline, they make line- and page breaks beyond belief, and what makes me mad most is that if I undo a page break, the page stays visible although it isn't there anymore because apparently their visual cache sucks ass. It's just tedious.

I recently installed the K Paint ripoff, but it's for some reason also terribly slow. Also importing images is too complicated.

It can't be that difficult, there are cheap ass online picture editors that do exactly what I want, "I want text here -> texttool - click- type - change font size" and "Here I want an image -> import from url -> image appears in a selection", however, then I have to go through saving it and transferring it into being ready to print again.

I WANT THAT SHIT TO BE FAST!

Pls help. Maybe a less capable but also less retarded MS Word clone would do fine?

Hey /g/, I'm sure this post will be buried by the massive amounts of video card shilling. In the even it does not, how about making your own little /vidyacard area so you can post benchmarks of screwed graphs all day and fap to them.

Btw, I'm still using a $200 R290 and I'm able to vidyagayme just fine and will continue to do so. Have a nice day.

gmmp

I liked Phonograph but it lacks features. PowerAmp was neat but I didn't settle on it after I tried gmmp. Also opus support.

Congratulations! You just finished making an extremely useful piece of software that you want to make open-source.

What license do you use?

Apache/MIT?
or
GPL?
27 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
MIT or GPLv2 (so, most likely MIT).

GPLv3 drove a wedge in the open source community between industry developers who wanted to feed back into OSS and non-industry developers who felt that the principle of freedumb was more important than actually winning over the hearts and minds of developers. nobody calls it "copyleft" - everyone calls it "viral".

people will find excuses to use new useful libraries if the licensing permits them to use it in their project, and most industry projects are closed source. you are not going to be so influential that you'll force them to go open source; instead, you'll be contributing to building a wall between two worlds.

BSD clause 3
>>
>You just finished making an extremely useful piece of software

The license will be proprietary. I will lock it down in my secured cloud server instance and put a paid API to access it on the internet.

Programmers should make income off their software instead of giving it away for free.

Hey, /g/, need your help. What's the best choice of microphone for poorfag?
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
pretty sure the one built into your laptop is the ultimate poorfag microphone.

if you have other constraints, maybe try typing those constraints into a comment box and submitting them.
>>
I'm using a fluoreon microphone right now

25$ and virtual audio cables. It's good after configuration.
>>
Old broken headset around the bottom of your neck with the microphone pointing up.
