I'm thinking about switching to Arch my main OS on my pc, only reason i still use windows on it are programms like after effecty, sony vegas, photoshop and so on.

It's not better or worse, but it isn't easier. You will need to install and configure every single part of a fully functioning desktop system yourself.

Thats mainly because intel though they could keep driving the clocks up for as long as they wanted. Turns out that wasnt the case because the heat and power consumption got out of control, of which the double pumped ALUs contributed a significant part. Netburst was intended to eventually hit 10ghz.
Had AMD and their own Pentium M slapped them in the face with the fact slower and wider is better, they would have instead released the monster that is Tejas, an architecture with a 40-50 stage long pipeline and a target clock speed of 7ghz stock.

What is the lightest OS for old computers ?
I have a quite old laptop with Pentium M 1.5 Ghz and 512 mb ram (shared for graphics, so 480 really).
Currently it has Windows XP, but it's really slow, to the point it can't be used. I'd only need to browse the internet.

It's not just the OS, it's the browser. A single tab will use from 50 to 300MB. You don't have enough RAM for the modern internet.
If you must, try a light linux distro such as Slax.

Because AWS is a huge cloud infrastructure provider. It's hosted by amazon, but the company rents servers / network infrastructure / data stores for their own uses.
Literally everyone uses hosted solutions for something or other right now. It doesn't make much sense to run bare metal farms anymore unless you have unlimited amounts of cash.
Microsoft Azure is the same kind of deal, google also has its own web services offerings as well

1 new craptop because I couldn't find anything decent at local store (even the ones that costed 2x as much as I paid were lame)
I guess I'm stuck using this one until it breaks, because my needs are very, very low. Pretty much use command-line for everything, and avoid Web 2.0 sites.
I doubt I'd do much differently. Well they had another laptop with 13-inch screen but no hard drive that looked pretty cool. Maybe I'd get that one instead, if only because using text mode on 16:9 15-inch screen feels just plain goofy (but I love me some text mode).
Uh, I gotta buy a cable for my Nintendo DS soon, but that's all of $5.
I got a wii + 200€ worth of games over that time and later a new PC for about 400€, at most 500 for various accesories.
I wish i spent more and got the PC earlier, bacause i was into bitcoins back then but mining on a laptop dualcore wit integrated intel graphics wasnt effective. Had i joined the glorious PC masterace earlier i would have made all that money back with a good profit

With the Mac I really got into iOS development, it's really fun and easy, I started learning Swift and it's simply great, everything just works, and my self-steem started increasing exponentially.
One day, I was at StarBucks developing an iOS App, and a qt girl talked to me. She asked "are you gay"? I said "no". Then we kissed.
The next week I met with her at the mall and we watched Mowgli, it was really fun, I kissed her at the end.
Then she said she's studying to enter a CS university, her dream is to become a game developer. That moment I realized I finally found the woman of my life, she's my 3D waifu, and she's the girl I want to pregnate.
All of that thanks to Apple's great piece of engendering, the MacBook® really changed my life. Thanks Apple!
