What's the very fastest data storage available at the moment, /g/?

I'm building a GPU farm to start building a prime factor rainbow table. I need the data going straight from the GPUs to the HD with no bottlenecks. Do PCI-E 3.0 SSDs have the fastest data rate in existence or is there something faster?

From what I can tell they can still only write ~500-600MB/s. That's going to be a crazy bottleneck.

intel 750 series SSD is the fastest atm. but you need an x-99 or z-97 MB for it get the speeds.

I don't know how much storage you need, but it sounds like what you want is a whole lot of RAM and some RAMdisk software.

Been using Chrome for a while now since FF was being a slow POS.

Should I return to FF? Or is there something even better?

at this point it is the same browser, different logo.
>>

I've been using waterfor / firefox for the last 1 - 2 years, two weeks ago I went to try Iridium ( debloated Chromium ).

I have to admit, it was pretty much exactly the same experience, maybe youtube was a little smoother - everything else absolutely the same.
And by smoother I don't mean quality of video - just general feel... after all Chromium has some html5 features which were not implemented in firefox yet... SO IT'S JUST FUCKING SAME shit but better optimized on Firefox + added freedom and infinite customization.

I went back on Firefox now because of lack of customization and shitty everything interface related on Chrome

This is my opinion tho, but note this - more people use firefox the better it gets, or so to speak it stays as good as it is now forever.
>>
>>53835699
The only legitimate reasons to use Firefox right now are extensions, security and customization. If you're fine with what Chromium based browsers have to offer, there's no point in using it.

I'm trying to dump Firefox in favor of something else, but every other browser looks like shit and doesn't let me change its UI the way I want to.

Less likely than you think. Companies aren't looking for people with a single skill so much anymore. In India they bootcamp a language and that's all they know.

Has a better case ever been made?

Dat airflow
Dem Hot Swap bays
Dat form factor

or is there an alternative case I should be looking at for around $100? It gets hot here so I really want a case with nice cooling.

I really dont understand the point of these on a consumer/gaymer case. You really can't reboot to replace a failed drive? Nobody's putting a high-availability server in this case. There's only two of them, so all you could do with it is RAID 1 anyway.

I have an Antec one. It's okay, but not great. I've been thinking of making my computer an HTPC kind of thing. Would this case be better for that sort of stuff?

I have 3 or 4 hard drives (and an SSD or two) as well. Would I be all right there? Could I add more if I got this case?

Hey guys, I have a question about mpv

When using mpv on Windows (no bully pls) and choosing hardware decoding, what is the difference between
Using hardware decoding (dxva2-copy).
VO: [opengl-hq] 1280x720 nv12

and
Using hardware decoding (dxva2).
VO: [opengl-hq] 1280x720 dxva2_vld

Is either of these backends significantly better than the other, or are they about the same?

There is no difference
>>
You could have just opened the manual and searched for it.

Most video filters will not work with hardware decoding as they are primarily implemented on the CPU.
Some exceptions are vdpaupp, vdpaurb and vavpp. See VIDEO FILTERS for more details.

The vaapi-copy and dxva2-copy modes allow you to use hardware decoding with any VO, backend or filter.
Because these copy the decoded video back to system RAM, they're likely less efficient than the vaapi
or dxva2 modes respectivley.
