Doesn't chafe the surface of whatever you put it on like crap burdensome feeling microsoft mouse.
"oh thanks for a peek at that atrocious red light thru the back of the mouse m-soft really needed that, important for me to know."

I use one at home and work. Good mouse. I don't care for the thumb buttons so I just don't use them.
>>
i agree. loving it. gave my brother one, too.

I have the first iteration and it has some problems - I had to reinforce the side buttons so they wouldn't fall in and the middle click sometimes stops working for days (then, strangely, works again)
>>
very good mouse no problems with it,

If I'm only going to be connecting using connections I know are secure, is there still any benefit of using SSH over Telnet?
13 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>SSH over telnet
What the hell? Why don't you just use SSH on its own?
>>
There is literally no reason to use telnet over SSH. The only time I telnet is into my phone for Remote Keyboard.
>>
>>53831940
I mean using ssh instead of telnet.

Ew no, it's always best to get the best iterations of certain technology that have all the kinks worked out. It's like internal combustion engines vs electric right now. I almost bought an electric mower but the battery dies too quickly and it was expensive as fuck. The gas mower I bought doesn't require oil changes only top offs, and I've mowed my 3 acres four times now without refilling it's gas. Peak technologies are the best. Electric cars won't be awesome until they've begun to be succeeded.

Ok, so I was re-installing gentoo and I kept fucking up. The first time I screwed up, I had to wipe the disk and so I flashed DBAN to the USB, wiped the HDD etc. But when I was done the USB wouldn't format. And every time I tried installing Gentoo, the USB wouldn't initialize. Now I want to go back to try again, but I'm out of fresh USB's. IDK how to fix my USB's. Diskutility won't wipe it, fdisk can't read it. My computer mounts it, but it only mounts a 17mb partition.

The USB broke man. Things break from time to time.
>>
screenshotting a draft is like saying "hey everyone look at me being edgy but not edgy enough to actually stand by the joke"

It's highly unlikely three USB's will break consecitevely like that.

Is it worth getting a ps4 or building a gaming pc,considering that i only want to play 2-3 games and browse the web.(i have another shitty computer that can handle that)

Build PC, install gentoo
>>
How much does a ps4 cost? What games? What's your budget? Do you have parts you can reuse (i.e. psu, ram, hdd, case, etc.)? You can dl cracked games, not sure about a ps4/not experienced at all.

How do I make my PC consume as little power as possible while only my torrent client is running? As far as I know sleep mode disables the network so down- and uploading doesn't work, and just idling still consumes quite a bit of power.

Other business laptops are also welcome in /tpg/ (e.g. Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook).
----
If you're looking for purchase advice, READ THE BUYERS GUIDE FIRST. Then post, stating budget and requirements (e.g. size and performance).
Don't buy anything OTHER THAN T, X AND W/P SERIES if you want the Real ThinkPad Experienceâ„¢

Recommended models:
T420 - 14", normal size
X220 - 12.5", lightweight
----
Why ThinkPad? (also applies to other business laptops)
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap.
>Excellent keyboards - tactile feel and quiet.
>Great durability: chassis uses a magnesium rollcage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels.
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models.
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop.
>Easy to repair, upgrade and maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model. Spare parts are easy and cheap to obtain.
>The best trackpoint (that red thing in the middle of the keyboard). Great for those who type a lot or hate swiping their fingers all over a touchpad.
>Excellent GNU/Linux & *BSD support.

Hello /g/, my little brother thinks he's good at computer cause he can play some games but dumb kid doesn't know anything about programming (neither do i).

Anyway, he wants to be a programmer. I doubt he'll last long, but he's trying to learn java now. Do i stop him, or let him follow his dreams?

isn't shaq q programmer? tell ur brother that
>>
meme the fuck out of him
>>
Just let him be. If he can't program, he may eventually stop programming because that means he can't figure out how to debug when he gets errors in his code
