It's July 15th, that means it's time for another GPHG edition, as the competing watches were just released. So at the moment there's quite a few watches in the running.

Including:

The Swiss Alp Watch. You know, that one that makes fun of smart watches, looks a bit like an apple watch buy is really a 20k+ mechanical? Yeah, that one.

We know the swiss hate Seiko, the Eichi II didn't even make pre-select last year. Seiko's back with 3 watches this year.

Under the credor brand, their tourbillon. Not too shocking with that. They did submit that under the Artistic Crafts category.

Under the generic "Men’s" catagory (the catagory the Eichi II was in) they have the 8 day power reserve GS Spring Drive. You may recall that from earlier this year being the GS that was worked on in Seiko's Micro Artist Studio (the group that normally just does Credor and works and trains with Philippe Dufour.) This watch uses 3 spring barrels to achieve its nearly 200hour power reserve and has cool looking single bridge in the back. That being said it is 43mm.

Under the Petite Aiguille category they actually submitted a limited edition enamel chrono. Now a chrono choice is interesting because generally their high end chrono is spring drive, but also the 6S37 which they're not really actively using, but TAG is. But underneath that high end 6S37, they have the 8R family chronographs, which do have some really cool tech with its triple vertical clutch, and that's what's in the watch they chose. A Presage enamel dialed chrono that's inspiried by a seiko watch made over 100 years ago, the Laurel. Limited edition of 1,000 of them. Really interesting to see they submitted this piece.

Keep in mind the Petite Aiguille catagory is one that the GS GMT won previously, and looking at the price of this chrono you could buy this 2-3 times by the time you could buy many of the other entries in this category, so they've come in very low on this one. But we'll see what the swiss think, the cool triple vertical clutch design can maybe get it into pre-selected status.

Fingerprinting is the newest way of tracking you across websites.
It's being done right now by companies like Google.
Because unlike cookie based tracking you can't defeat it just by disabling cookies.
There is currently NO FOOLPROOF DEFENCE against fingerprinting (except quitting the Internet).

Google's privacy policy states
>Other technologies are used for similar purposes as a cookie on other platforms where cookies are not available or applicable
https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/key-terms/#toc-terms-cookie

ReCAPTCHA probably contains fingerprinting code:
https://archive.is/9K5gs
This means that the majority of 4chan users could be being fingerprinted, and Google might know about your shitposting habits even if cookies are disabled.

Google releases limited hangout of how much they know about you:
https://news.slashdot.org/story/16/06/29/2038257/googles-my-activity-reveals-how-much-it-knows-about-you
>Oh, they're just remembering what YouTube videos I watched, nothing creepy about that, I already knew they were doing it!
>I guess all those people who fear tracking really are just conspiracy theorists!

Daily reminder to do all your Amazon / eBay / LinkedIn / botnet shit in a completely separate browser to your Googling or buying shit.
It's currently the ONLY way to truly defend against fingerprint tracking.
Double points if you have each browser running in a different VM with a different OS.
Triple points if you have each browser's VM configured with a different VPN connection.

1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

Anyone have any recommendations on this?

Nethogs isn't what I'm looking for since that seems to show how much bandwidth each process uses, but I'm looking for a monitor of each connection's bandwidth, restricted to only one process.

Windows' Resource Monitor actually manages to do this, so surely there's a linux tool that can handle the job.

Hello and thank you for a more SFW image.

I am curious as to how to enable html5 in a firefox browser on linux.

I googled "html 5 linux" and all I can seem to find it tricks and leet hacks to enable it.

Is it not available on linux natively yet?
