It's a good phone, but the lack of updates is not a good sign.
>>
>>51910757
there were few minor updates, Asus confirmed Android 6 in testing for this device.

I have a problem on mine sometimes, the seconds SIM gets disconnected, otherwise great phone.
>>
>>51910792
We are still on Android 5.0, that's bad. Asus should at least jump to a new Android version like 5.1 already.

CS should be renamed to codemonkey training
Because that's what it mainly is, hell even electronics students can program better than CS apes

Well obviously, electronics is all the important stuff that lies between pure hardware and pure software.

For users of all levels, including absolute beginners

If you are serious about switching to Linux, use it exclusively for 2 weeks, avoid booting to windows for that period of time, or you are likely to start retreating back to windows instead of getting used to linux as your new home and working on making it feel comfortable

You can safely experience installation process and the basic usage through a virtual machine

Reposting from last thread

I've got two questions for you /flt/

1) I installed mint+cinnamon on an ssd that I had laying around. Didn't really feel like putting it on the same ssd as windows since I had a nightmare fixing that shit when I fucked something up in the past.

Looking at the disk in Windows it shows 3 partitions. Can anyone tell me what might be in those three? I'm mostly confused about the 8gb and 512mb partitions. I'm sure the largest one is just "basic storage" for things that I download into the disk like programs, media, ect, which I already have on other HDDs.

Why would it split the drive up like that?

2) What exactly makes one distro better suited for a specific applications or purposes compared to another one? I.e, what makes Debian great for servers compared to say Mint or Fedora?

>Connections, a Microsoft Garage project, helps you better manage your relationship with your contacts - be it friends, family, customers, vendors or suppliers. It helps you capture and surface important information so that you can be organized and prepared. Notes, Reminders, Categories & Sharing are just a start - but we aim to keep listening to feedback and improving the app so that we provide enough context to all your interactions.

>>Why use Connections?
>Note down information you want to remember for a contact right after meeting or calling them
>Set reminders for each contact so you get reminded with info on exactly whom to follow-up
>View the last note even before answering someone's phone call
>Categorize your contacts with tags for easy search
>Add pictures from your phone gallery so you can have visual notes and reminders
>Share notes along with related contact information like name & phone number

>>Some quotes from early users:
>"The app helped me remember things I needed to speak to when my wife called! Thank you! :)"
>"I run a business & used the app to set reminders for following up on payments"
>"I can now note down quotes I gave for new enquiries. No need to note them down on paper anymore!"
>"I used to carry a diary to remember customer orders, but now I can do it per customer on Connections."

>>Connections (http://aka.ms/connections) is one of our latest experiments at making people with smartphones be more productive on the move. We value your feedback on the app, and would continue to evolve the product based on your inputs. So, do try the app and let us know what you think!

Primarily because /g/ is full of uneducated idiots who know nothing about cpus beyond "muh intel". The 6 and 8 core FX chips (lol fuck the quadcore ones) are highly competitive in many, many areas given their current pricing.

Today for even vidya an 8350 competes against an i5 most of the time (and the higher clocked models can approach a 4770k).
