Is running a late 90's/early Y2K game on an older Windows on a Virtual Machine a good way to bypass them simply not working on modern machines?
>>55169756
Yes
>>55169756
Maybe
Have you ever hired a Pajeet to code something? What would be the quality of the code? Would there be vulnerabilities everywhere? Do they even read reported exploits? Or do they code by "telling the machine what to do" and exactly that.
>>55169700
I'm sure he'll code better than you, anon.
Don't let those insecurities get the best of you (even if they're grounded in reality and you won't ever amount to anything)
>>55169743
So you're saying they are hard working flies?
>>55169743
do you know how many security experts end up writing buggy code?

Don't buy AMD ever, its garbage for poorfags.

All free and do about the same thing
What's the coolest technology today that's worth spending a ton on? Assuming one has a ton for some reason.
sharks
>>55169495
for what?
>>55169495
A metric ton doesn't necessarily mean it has a high value, that depends on the material.
Is there any simple and reliable handheld device with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GSM that lets me messaging over most possible protocols and still lets me do anything like WinMobile did?
IPhones are not affordable, Android seems too glossy and unreliable, WP 8 was somewhat good but there aren't IRC and Jabber clients and W10M is a piece of shit.
Am I alone in this desire?
>>55169449
Android is good but you have to choose something with stock os (so not Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony) like a Motorola or Nexus. Chink phones are good: Xiaomi, OnePlus, Meizu. Also look at Saygus V2 its god tier but pretty old now.
>>55169552
got a meizu atm, flyme is a shit. also mediatek so theres no hope for custom roms

Hey /g/!
Recently bought the GTX 1070 expecting it to live up to the hype.
It didn't. Coming from a 660ti, there really isn't much of a difference. I did some benchmarking against a friend's 980ti and his rig actually outperformed mine.
Not sure if the card is defective or if I'm bottlenecking here. The largest difference between our builds is the case... so I'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar.
>>55169316
Nice blog. Subscribed. Now fuck off
>>55169341
You're the boss
OC 980ti outperforms the 1080.
Should I apply for a job as a "systems analyst" if I've only ever done webdev stuff?
I'm trying to rewrite my resume for it and it feels like a lie man. But it's a government job and I'd really like to get it.
System analyst is basically rocket science
Webdev is telling people about rockets
what do you think

Who's "using a big screen tv as my primary display" here?
I've been using a 43 inch 1080p tv positioned lower than my eye level(so I'm looking slightly down) for almost a year now and it's fucking awesome.
I don't know how anyone could use a regular monitor.
>>55169301
I used to have a 36" but I switched back to a regular monitor at 2 weeks of use because the heat on my face started to be overwhelming.
>>55169301
only because im short on space or i would have my pc set up on a desk

Is it worth upgrading my aging 560Ti to a 960 now? I'm considering this one: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 GV-N960OC-4GD 4GB which is around 200$ here.
>>55168025
hell to the no
The RX 480 is going to be around 980 levels of performance.

worth what?
how much do you make?
what do you need either of these for?
why do you ask us such retarded questions?
why do you burden us with another shitty thread like this?
Who here is already waiting for Black Friday before making their next build? I've been using the same build for the past four years, with gradual upgrades. But with Zen coming around the corner, I'm looking to get a new case, RAM, mobo, etc., with PCI passthrough in mind. (Not sure what I'll do with the build while I wait for Zen to come out. maybe get a cheap skylake CPU so I don't end up with extra DDR3?)
What kind of stuff tends to get a good sale on Black Friday? For instance, I've been eying the Carbide 200R or 300R. Would it get cheaper,...

Only saved $90 for new parts bc crippling debt
This is so fucking stupid.
If you need a new computer, you buy at the time you need it.
Waiting months and months and depriving yourself of a new computer for months just to save a bit of money tells me that your time is completely worthless because you would have bought the parts already if you needed the computer NOW.
>>55168331
>This is so fucking stupid.
>If you need a new computer, you buy at the time you need it.
You seem pretty pissed off at the idea that people would plan ahead for a big purchase. No, I don't need a new computer, my current one is fine for my daily use. It's just pretty old (phenom ii), has no cable management, and limits me from doing a PCI passthrough build. Since there's no emergency, I can do some research on my purchase.
Can we get a calculator thread going?
Anyone here have the HP Prime app on Android?

Not supporting a monopoly
Not having to pay the same price you would have 20 years ago for 20 year old hardware
HP doesn't try to lock you into using their shitty programming languages
