Sometimes, helps debugging and profiling
Well, especially profiling

Do you store shit in your computer?

I mean, having a lot of files saved that you wont need.
Or do you deleted them time by time?

My OCD is fucking with me regarding stuff saved in my computer. I want to know how do you manage your files, and if you keep them in order, if you keep the minimum possible, or how you do it.

Protip: 99% of people don't use any software they touch anywhere near its full potential.

I have a thing for older top of the line cpu's and gpu's.

Am I crazy for wanting SLI 590's? $275 on ebay. Will be paired up with an Athlon II x4 651K which was top of the line cpu for the FM1 board.

This won't be me primary computer btw.

How do you make up your passwords ?
I've been threatened for some bullshit and even though i'm safe I want to get a step safer cuz I'm a paranoid autist. I'm willing to change every password's account I have and take the risk to forget a lot of them

> generate passwords ?
> should I make them too long or too complex/random ?
> Shoud I write them down or save them anywhere like a note in my phone or is it stupid ?

What are your opinions on this ?

Since we live in a day and age where login servers take measures against brute-forcing (enter password wrong X amount of times, get locked out for Y amount of time, email notification gets sent to Z address), security firms are now teaching businesses the practice of using and maintaining a Password Index. It works like this:

[Base_Word][Add_Word]

The base word is used in every password. The add word changes from account to account. For example:

apple123Gmail

In the above, "apple123" is the base word and "Gmail" is the add word. It's important to not use capital letters in the base word itself as not all password systems support capital letters. Therefore leaving caps for the add word ensures that you never have to change your base word.

The idea behind the password index is that you can memorize your base word and keep an index of your add words thus not compromising your passwords. What's more, should one password become compromised, the rest are safe and only the add word for that password needs to be changed.

Lastly, the given example shouldn't be taken literally: Don't use something so simple such as "Gmail" for an add word for your Gmail account or "apple123" for your base word.

because the name of an array is a pointer to its first element. array[subscrupt] is just some syntactic sugar for pointer arithmetic. Memory management is your responsibility in C, the compiler doesn't keep track of how much you have, and its your responsibility to free it when you're done.

Because nobody has the time to figure out a gigantic existing codebase with all its intricacies, designs, practices, side-effects and expectations of specific bits of code, whether some code just works because of defaults that become invalid when you change other stuff, etc

If it was this easy, being a programmer wouldn't be a job, anon, it'd just be a basic skill even your grandma would have.

Please don't do this.

Former Florida Disney employee Leo Ferrero, testifying before the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration and The National Interest subcommittee, details how, not long after receiving a glowing performance review from his employer, he learned he was losing his job to a foreign worker on an H-1B visa who he would be required to train. While there is a bipartisan effort in Congress to end H-1B visa abuse, there are also efforts to dramatically expand the H-1B program without providing real protections for American workers. For example, the 2013 Senate ‘Gang of Eight’ bill would have more than doubled annual issuances of H-1B visas. The Senate ‘I-Squared’ bill goes even further, more than tripling annual issuances of H-1Bs. Both bills fail to include meaningful worker protections.

Okay, only because I've been fucking asking for 3 days, with no response, I'm forced to make my own thread about it.

The Z5(c) gets recommended a lot on /g/ so I figure a sizable number of you people have it.
I'm assuming at least SOME of you are American and have the US version which came out recently. My questions:

1.) How are you liking it so far?

2.) Anyone here a US customer with the US version of the phone?

3.) Does the phone have that blurring on the edges of photos due to the camera being off-set like the international model?

4.) Has there been an update to fix the lackluster camera software? It's a real shame that it has probably the best hardware, but every other manufacturer is making better use of it than they are.

Why are ARM processors so much cheaper than X86/X64 processors?

Thinking about leaving community college to be a gym teacher to go to technical school to be an electrician or hvac person. What do you guys think? i am sick of the liberal arts shit in the general ed courses of community college.
32 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
If you can, try to get into the apprenticeship for electrical linemen. Go to community college and get your class A CDL, and then apply as a driver/groundman for your local utility through the union hall. Being in the union and having a class A license will put you above 90% of the rest of the candidates.

Being a lineman is hard work but the pay and benefits are fucking awesome and you get to work with some bad ass technolo/g/y.

No shit, if you get in as an apprentice when you're in your early 20's, you'll be able to retire a literal millionaire in your early 50's.
