Nice b8 i rate 8/8 m8.
>>53315086
I remember back in the days when this was so true. Franticly running lsusb to see if its detected. Now its easy thanks to those amazing guys in kernel dev and those front end folks who created a popup function in those amazing desktop env.

Terrible.
>Linux
generic drivers for EVERYTHING, you can forget fancy features for USB/PCI/PCIe/TB devices
>Windows
specialized drivers for even more stuff, full featured mouse, keyboard, printers, storage etcetc
Linux is honestly a joke
Linux - Golf 2, works, but its not interesting
Windows - Lexus LFA

Now that the West is in freefall, what will the Asian Century have in store for us?
1. Chinese, Japanese and Indian Universities are releasing more innovative technology research than all Western Universities combined in everything from management to AI technology
2. China passed USA last year in the number of research articles published in major scientific journals.
3. China passed USA and Eurooe combined last year in the number of technology patents granted

Just wondering why porn sites never use a TLS connection? (or at least I never find one)
Maybe CAs don't want to validate them?
>>53311692
>Maybe CAs don't want to validate them?
Doubt it, but I really want TLS on porn too.
I don't want everyone to know my fetishes.
>>53311727
Exactly, maybe porn sites are where people would appreciate more privacy whit normal browsing, excluding for personal data like logins, transactions etc.
And switching to Tor or VPN just for that is boring.
There ain't good way to prove TLS for Hentai@Home-clients.
My older brother wants to change his very old gpu, he's a poorfag so he only has $60 to spend but he just want to be able to run the new CODs and other casual shit like that.
What should I tell him to buy? I'm completely behind and I never bought a GPU for less than $150
If you delete this thread and post it on /wsr/ I will help you, else fuck off
$60 isn't going to get him anything better than his current gpu, especially if he wants to run newer games. He needs at least $100 to get some actual entry-level cards.
>>53311764
He has a 9600GT, there's no way he can't find better for $60. Buying a second-hand card is an option.
Mine's showing as shipped but it's only 3lbs. FUCK. I wonder if they'll at least let me keep it if I request a refund.
Anyone else have better luck?
>>53311255
Did you really expect to get 20 drives for 150$?
>>53311319
yes
>>53311319
Yes, I've gotten in on a few price mistakes before, the best being a 55" Samsung 1080P 120hz TV for $269
I also got 10 32oz Nalgene Tritan bottles for $1.99 last year

- The mpv developers hate doom9.
- The madVR/MPDN/LAV developers hate mpv.
Is it just a Windows vs Linux story or are there things we should know?
I heard mpv dev hacked sexy pics of palmer luckeys MOM TEHEHEHEHEUH EUH and then palmer got MAD so he founded MAD VR using his MADNESS and his VR headset and then i poope da little
>>53306014
mpv fan and Linux programmer here - from what I can tell, the mpv people hate all other media software due to extremely low code quality and bad coding practices (e.g. copy/pasting terrible code from avisynth that they don't understand how it works even in the slightest)
It's not so much a mpv vs Windows thing as it's about mpv vs the rest of the world.
>>53306128
Also, needless to say, doom9 is the center of this wave of amateur “programmers” making their own media software.

Anyone see the new Google domain tlds?
People are eating that shit up but I cant see anything thats not a .com getting big.
I've been using this for about three months now. It's fucking stellar for everything, /g/. These things really are the future. Microsoft and Apple have every reason to be afraid of these things.
ChromeOS has noapps
I might understand if you would say you put Arch on it
but not mentioning anything about change from the chrome OS...
the fuck is your use of a PC? browser?
Really /g/? At this point you should just assume that 90% of users talking about how great Chromebooks are, are speaking of their potential when combined with a usable full OS.

What does /g Thinks about this little nigger?
I'll run a nas out of it and probably gonna gonna host a gameserver on it that anyway runs without problems in virtualbox with one core of t8100.
Will it be enough brave for this?
>>53311989
> not buying a retired server on amazon for $250
What kind of game server? Quite alot of gameservers are singlethreaded so singlecore performance can be important.
do you have the connection to be running a game server first of all - you may be better off just getting a vps
it should be fine for NAS stuff but i would just pick up one of those HP NAS boxes on ebay
