Dindu shit against those sites and services.
Won't do shit against youtube-dl either, which is superior.
No worries there, m8.
No, google is forced to take these sites down because they can be used to circumvent geoblocks. Youtube-dl doesn't do such a thing by itself
What are some problematic tech terms and what can we do about them?

Sooner or later they'll rewrite history books with master and slave changed to leader and follower, then people'l have a real reason to be offended.
>>54833231
What happens when leader and follower become offensive too? Not everyone is so privileged to become a 'leader' after all. You shouldn't criticize, demean, or dehumanize them to call them a 'follower'!

Opinions on NordVPN, /g/?
I'm looking for a VPN provider that's fairly cheap and has a no-logging policy.
I got it 2 weeks ago. From my experience so far it's fast, reliable and they take privacy/security pretty seriously. I would have to spend more time with it to give you a recommendation though
>>54833058
>You can’t be safe without VPN. It’s a fact.
>claims to be "safer than if you were actually at the bank or store."
lolno
>no logging "policy"
This is just a maymay. If they want to log, they will. If a court or investigatory body tells them to log, they will.
You need to depend on technology that will protect your anonymity, not meaningless corporate policies.
I want a very good Windows 7 pc for gaming, film editing.
What requirements would I need?
I found a shop that still makes up Windows 7's and need to tell them what I want put together.
Thanks
No problem, have a good day.

I recently bought a pair of Philips Fidelio X2s and I've been enjoying them but recently I started noticing weird volume issues when listening to music from Spotify. I listen to a lot of tropical house and I noticed that when the beat drops the volume goes down considerably. Could someone go listen to "ID - Ultra Music Festival Anthem" by Kygo on desktop Spotify and tell me if the volume drops at 2:12 compared to the rest of the song because it's annoying the shit out of me.
Every fucking time the beat drops the volume lowers this is actually infuriating
>>54832928
If it isn't the mix, that sounds like some kind of DSP. Make sure you have no sound "enchacing" features enabled from your sound card's driver suite and nothing from Spotify either. Can't test that for you atm.

no EQ's at all]just listened on my phone and it sounded balanced the whole way through, pretty sure its my god awful motherboard with ACL1150
Can anyone clarify how legitimate, functioning and strong Whatsapp's end to end encryption security is?
Add: Does the encryption also encrypt media files?
>>54832893
It's not end to end encrypted. Use Signal instead.
>>54833027
But whatsapp recently collaborated with Open Whisper Systems, which in fact is the company that created Signal, to release its new end to end encryption.
>>54833120
Okay it's "end to end" but WhatsApp can read your messages like how Google hangouts is "end to end" but they can still read your messages. Signal is truly end to end, open source, and nobody but you and the person you're communicating with know whats being said.
Hi /g/, my FX 8350 doesn't even beat an old i7 2600k... is it worth it to upgrade from this to fx 9590 ?
>>54832845
Wait for zen
Wait for zen or go Intel.
My 8350 got 617 on Cinebench, I'm confused how your is losing to a 2600k. Try OCing.

Is there an alternative to this shit?

Install Gentoo GNU/Linux
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing...

Are there any good game engines for Java, Anons? What is, in your opinion the best engine?
Also, game development general.
>>54832810
seconded. I'm a currently working as a junior Java Web Services Engineer and I'm curious about some Java game engines. Anybody know any good ones?
Use Unity + C#.
If you know Java, transitioning to C# will be easy. You just get to keep the good parts from Java and get the awesome parts of C#.
I need to switch distros (i'm using Funtoo at the moment) because compiling takes too long on my old school laptop. Basically I want to be able to use a really quick package manager and init system so that I can spend less time compiling and configuring when I chance things. I was thinking something like void or maybe fedora. (arch would be fine if it was a tiny bit more stable, same with Debian testing.)
What OS would you run on a 10 year old laptop?
Yeah windows is possible but I can't really be bothered getting all my software to work on it, and I like to be able to change how things look.
Picture related.

Ubuntu MATE
>>54832733
I've tried Ubuntu mate and I like it, I just don't really like apt that much. and If I wanted to use mate I could just install it on another os.
>>54832723
Arch, Xubuntu, Debian. Chose depending on your needs, since you come from funtoo Arch would be probably best. Maybe opensuse tumbleweed.
