I selfishly opened this thread to ask this question, but I'm getting nowhere on my own here.

I'm making a simple JS card game and I use a serInterval to draw the grid where the cards can be placed so it looks pretty.

Problem is I don't want the next function to be executed till the board is painted, wich takes a second or two.
I can always call the function drawCard() after the clearInterval(), but that would mean I have to call all functions from drawCard() from now on.
I also don't think that adding a setTimer to all my posterior functions is the correct answer.

Sorry if my code isn't clear, it's my first "game".

Who else fell for the "net neutrality" meme?

It's just another example of over reaching government. We DO NOT need ENFORCED "net neutrality" - what we need is COMPETITION within the private sector. To increase competition we need less barrier to entry which entails less regulations and restrictions on startups. If we continue to let special interest groups create barriers for small businesses via the state then we will continue to have poor service! Regulation is bad for consumers.

Where did you guys learn how to code? I've been lurking on /g/ for sometime and I am very interested in coding, Java- specifically, and maybe C or Python. I've signed up for some classes on Udemy and made an account on Codeacademy, but I have a gut feeling those two are meme-tier teaching places.

Can anyone also tell me the differences between the various programming languages and what they're used for? Which are shitty languages, which ones I should learn first, etc.

Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners. Older thread >>52094669
There are three ways to try Linux, you can:

1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with Linux (not recommended)

If you are serious about switching to Linux and if you have Windows dual-booted (recommended for pure newbies),
we recommend you use it exclusively for 2 weeks, and avoid Windows dual booting for that period of time, or it's
likely you will start retreating back to windows instead of getting used to GNU/Linux as your new home and working on
making it feel the way you want it.

>Recommended for beginners:
-Ubuntu MATE
-Debian (For Broadcom devices, use an ISO that includes non-free firmware)
-openSUSE
-LinuxMint (Cinnamon)
