Are sound cards a placebo?
I have a Xonar DG and the only thing it is good for is random BSOD

the problem with intergrated sound controllers is the fact that theyre integrated. being inside the case with a lot of electrical components makes it skeptical to electronic noise.

usually people will get an external dac to fix this problem

>you're limited to one sata drive per channel
How did this piece of shit replace IDE?
69 posts and 7 images submitted.
>>
SATA is also an order of magnitude faster than IDE.
>>
Maybe because it's a lot faster?

It's also not Fuck huge, you could have like 4 SATA connectors in the space for 1 ide
>>
>>55248487
But ide has more connectors? Could you not update the controller to increase bandwidth?

>>55248494
More like 2 sata for each ide, maybe 3.
But then you have more cables hanging around your pc.

Why exactly is security better ?

I'm currently away for work in basically the middle of no where, I found a USB to install Arch onto a notebook I was given that 'doesnt work'. Unfortunately that usb is only 500mb capacity.

The arch ISO is 744mb however so it aint going to cut it, are there any more minimal ISOs for Arch? The net install says it requires ethernet and this device only has wifi.

I'm only interested in Arch because it's what I'm used to, am I going to have to use some other small distribution instead?
Any advice?

what do they have loaded on it? debian isos are only 300MB

Debian isos are only 300mb?
I might have to go that route if there isnt a solution.

>What do they have loaded on it
I gather its the same iso for both 32 and 64bit so its double the size because of that? Idk really man thats what I gleemed from the forums while I was googling it, I'd never taken note of the size before so I was just as surprised as you that it was so large.

Lads, I can't pick out a fucking case. I'm tired of the NZXT 630 Phantoms design, and I can't stand full towers anymore. I want something reasonably small (mid tower) and aesthetically pleasing. I like the design of the Phanteks P400S and the NZXT H440, but I can't quite pull the trigger.

Anyway, help me out, post favorite/least favorite cases etc.....

What is the basic difference between

Yes.

I am having to learn Java in school for my degree.

I am interested in learning to program in genera.

With Java being the first programming language I learn, what should the second be?

I am thinking Python or Go.
17 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
You have very little reason to learn Python after Java. I'd suggest Ruby instead.
>>
>>55247703
Runy on Rails then?

Thanks.
>>
>>55247712
Rails is a web application that uses Ruby. You'd learn the latter first and then integrate it with other web code to practice Rails.

If I use Mullvad for a VPN when I torrent my Linux isos, my ISP won't be able to know how much freedom I'm downloading, right?

Also, post VPN recommendations.

PIA if you're just torrenting shit. If you're thinking about cheese pizza, or otherwise illegal shit, stop. If you need a VPN recommendation, you certainly don't have the knowledge to keep yourself safe.
