I have the option to get a i7 4790k and was wondering if it would be a waste. I have an overclocked i5 2500k right now, would I notice the difference?

it's about 10-15% better IPC, probably get a better OC'er than your 2500k and 4 extra threads.
You'll see a little bump in gaymin but you're probably better investing it into a better gfx card if you want a real improvement.
Depends how much it'll cost you all up, once you sell the old board and chip.
Probably not worth it.

I've already got a small Kindle library that I've just been reading with my Android tablet, but I'm thinking of getting a Kindle Paperwhite for better outdoor reading and battery life.

You should go for the kobo h2o model instead, if you don't want the waterproof feature just get the glo. Kobo tends to be cheaper and better for starting out, it's also way more open than the kindle

You guys are pretty smart, I upgraded some ram in my PC and it seems i'm only getting 666mhz when I got 14gigs in there. I don't understand.
Some of my ram sticks have different memory on them, for example one is 2gb and the others are 4gb. Could this be why its running like this?
