Why would I hate a programming language? That's stupid. That's like hating a wrench.
What people hate is when other people use wrenches alone to try and build houses.

I need to download all postings of a large forum. It has around 800k members. All content and links are public. The forum is limited to around one connection per second. To not download for half a year, I am looking for someone with a lot of IPs under his control to download the stuff for me in parallel. Like, a botnet herder. What would be a good place to look for this?

Hmm. Low chance of success, but it would remove some traffic from them. I'll try, I guess.

What the fuck?
Who the fuck thought Alt + PrtScr + O was fucking better than just pressing PrtScr?

You know, that's why nobody uses Linux. Honestly I don't understand why you freetards have to make everything fucking complicated.

I've noticed in networking, compared to other IT fields (which is a mixed bag/YMMV situation to begin with), is mainly comprised of people with solid interpersonal and communication skills. The hard skills in this filed /almost/ seem to be secondary in this line of work.

I've met individuals with multiple certs and an accredited college degree related to networking who were unemployed. At first I thought Networking was a worthless field, but then I realized most of the kids who couldn't land a job would literally turn into a bowl of spaghetti if they managed to land an interview. Not to mention they all were super out of shape (UPSs and aggregation routers aren't fuckin' light).

Is anyone here not a Networking NEET?

i would love to be, but have no idea what to do after the 4 CCNA certs i got. would be a really fun field to work in.
afaik there arent any uni courses for it.
>>
>>54467943
Well the certs alone are more or less toilet paper if you haven't worked a day in an IT field.

Networking/Sys Admin cheat code is to take any low tier IT job and constantly "bug" the guys doing the real footwork. I started out working at my highschool with the systems/network admin as a general on the go helpdesk guy. I started to weasel my way into less client side issues and work with 3rd party contractors for infrastructure related problems.

The only catch is you have to deal with 10/15 dollar an hour pay for a short while. You need to demonstrate the fact you can

>show up on time (big thing that IT spergs can't do)
>be okay with being thrown over your head (aka problem solving)
>be a cool guy/gal to work with (you can be 100% right, but 100% fired)

Don't think you're going to be fucking with Cisco shit every day, thing is, you can plug a fucking router or switch in, do basic config >copy-run-start, and that thing can be left alone for years, that's why corporations pay $$$ for Cisco. Take some time to study for something Microsoft related (MCSE level or something). 'Cause reality hates a specialist.

What does /g/ think of VMware?
There is any reason to use virtualbox over this?
Also, can virtualbox use some of the GPU yet to bots and stuff?

VMWare is pretty much the best when it comes to Virtual Machines... Virtual Box doesn't have shit on (half the features) VMware does, including Hardware accelerated GFX...
>>
i almost worked for them once but didn't end up taking the job, they seemed pretty dysfunctional, did some research afterwards and it seems like all their good people left several years ago

>What does /g/ think of VMware?
VMware Workstation was the best desktop vm solution. Until they killed it recently.

>There is any reason to use virtualbox over this?
VBox is open source and has lots of great tools that mostly work with VBox better than VMware because of this.

>Also, can virtualbox use some of the GPU yet to bots and stuff?
If you want to do GPU (PCI passthrough) you have better options such as Xen

I'm a little cautions /g/uys, I purchased a 980 for $450 and they're telling me the GTX 1070 is only gonna be $379 and better than the Titan X and two 980's SLI? How can a card cost half of mine and outperform it? Someone please reassure my fears because I am selling my 980 to an uninformed cuck to buy one of these June 10th and it better be worth it. Please assure me this isn't a meme.

it's called the advancement of technology.
>>
>>54467294
But won't NVIDIA be killing their sales for like any other card the sell? Why buy anything else?
>>
>>54467277
No one can. There are ZERO real world benchmarks for the 1080 for at least a week. Nvidia's roadmaps have been floating around forever, it's not like you didn't know it was coming.

Installing Linux distros is no longer giving me the high I desire. At first I started with Xubuntu and when I installed it I got a rush, when that wasn't enough I moved to Arch and after installing it from the command line my brain was flooded with dopamine, it was great. However Arch is no longer giving me that craving. So I moved to BSD. I started with BSD and boy, installing it was unlike anything I've ever experienced before. Once finished I ran Screenfetch and just seeing that logo, which most people don't have, I was there.

After BSD what should I move onto? Gentoo? The more lines of code flashing on my monitor the better.

Do you have Java installed on your PC, and if, which version? Do you mind programs on Linux systems written in Java?

I do, if you're distributing applications you can distribute a stripped version of the JRE with it, so people without Java installed can run it.

Europe here,
Walkie talkie here are shit because FRS and GMRS are illegal, we use PMR446.

How hard is it to mod a PMR446 radio to have more transmission power?
Would this influence the battery life significally?
