Which one?
No memeing. I've used kodi/xbmc since original xbox times but kinda wanted to get 1080p transcoded streams to my android so I tried out plex last night. Couldn't get the scraper to see my mkv's, even though I named and renamed and organized my directories, so I uninstalled that piece of shit. Why it can't show the files without any scraping?
Well, now I'm configuring emby, I'll try it out, too.

whats the big deal with Systemd that I keep hearing about?
It allows Linux installations to reproduce with one another, systemD, get it? A lot of detractors are worried about the ethics of this, others are worried that it might lead to strong AI wiping out humanity.
They're all just jelly luddites who cannot into the massive profits that come from Linux breeding.
I dunno. Linux-user since 07.. Don't get jack shit about the dilemma concerning systemd..
>>55404413
the worst part is googling it only brings up vague mentions of the "systemd problem" on forums
Yes, we know everything is already from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on Gearbest, AliExpress, eBay and similar sites.

I'm looking to buy a top tier gaming pc. Get me the specs of what I should buy. 4000$ to spend.
>>55404344
>>55404354
This coupled with AMD CPU and AMD GPU. 32 GB ram. Oh and also a motherboard made of steel to handle the heat.
>>55404344
>Mobo: Asus Maximus VII Extreme Z170
>CPU: i7 6700k with some kind of liquid cooling, ARCTIC Liquid Freezer 240 for example
>32G DDR4 ram kit, speed is virtually irrelevant
>GPUs: 2xGTX1080 SLI, avoid Gigabyte and ASUS as manufacturers; EVGA, MSI, Palit are all fine choices
>PSU: CORSAIR 860W AX Platinum
>Case: COOLER MASTER MasterCase Pro 5
ITT: Underrated software. Geany is constantly maintained and just lets you work.
>>55404340
You realize you don't get any replies because no one here do any actual work in Linux.
an actual IDE not based on java, without dependencies up your ass, and little storage space used.
It's more used than you think. It's just not memed enough.

Become a cop and use technology to plant evidence by drones in nignog nests.
This is /g/ the tech board. I think you're looking for /pol/ which is down the hall on the right.
Any opinions on my build?

Was thinking about dropping the Noctua cooler since I won't need to OC / can't OC. Purpose of this build is programming, video games, a little CAD + rendering + computation. Will use Windows and will have one virtual machine running Debian. Want something powerful, small, and silent.
Please don't recommend any i5 processors since I need the hyper threading. Also, 256 GB of storage is more than enough for me. Thanks!
>>55404195
you might as well get rasberry pi and have the same result faggot
Go get i7 6700k
Epic, simply epic.
>>55404195
that's a lot of ram, but nice build overall
i don't know much about that processor, but i doubt there will be any bottlenecking
if u are using it as gaming/ workstation u might want to check out some CPU liquid coolers imo

Hello /g/:
Let me start by saying this is currently the PC I work on (it was a gift please have mercy):
http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-TouchSmart-300-1100-Desktop-PC-series/4079688/model/4176676/document/c02056468/
I was thinking about taking the dive and testing out the SFF niche and taking the dive on the Intel NUC Skull Canyon. I looked at the specs, and while it's nothing spectacular, it seems interesting. At this point I feel like anything would probably feel amazing compared to what I currently use. I'd use it for emails, web browsing, some MS office work, and light gaming (ex: Minecraft, Don't Starve, LoL, and Lego Marvel are all games that I use to play, so they are a decent indicator of the capabilities it would be nice to have). The only one I still currently play is Don't Starve Together, and I can still run that, so I figured this guy should be able to handle it no problem. I also heard that Gigabyte is about to push out a new thing of Brix, one was like this aluminum rectangle and the other looked like something alienware would make, but I am not sure when they are going to be released or even how much it would cost. I know price wise, building would be cheaper, but I am also curious about the SFF niche, the small/minimalist design is appealing for desk space is visually appealing and just to see what this niche is good for, but of course, if it is is just ridiculously too much for what it is, then maybe I'll hold off for now. So what do you guys think? If I end up going with it, I can always come back and give you guys a review of what it is like with my workload.
And in general how do you feel about these barebone SFF kits?
They're simply epic.
>>55404151
What about the SFF do you enjoy?
>>55404204
They're simply epic.
Lads, how do I stop myself from distro hopping? In 2016 alone I've used Fedora, Ubuntu, Kali (for work), Ubuntu minimal w/ i3, Mint, Debian, Antergos, Korora and most recently, Arch Linux
I'm going to change distros again tonight.
Get a new hobby. One that keeps you away from computers.
Shooting yourself would be one way to stop
>>55404133
If you're hopping distros that often, it means you don't use your computer for anything that's actually productive. People who use their computer to get shit done will groan at the thought of re-installing their OS because it's time lost doing work.
Hi guys. What's your opinions on lasers
I like to play a little game. You pull up near an airport and point it at planes. Then you time how fast the police come. It's all for science⢠so you can't get in trouble.
:^) here's your bump you faggot
Epic, simply epic.
