In 1994 my goldfish accidentally killed himself by activating a heat seeking laser. I had carefully placed a little metal ball in his tank, connected to a high current, low voltage power source. Removing the ball meant activating the ultra high power laser beam which in turn literally fried the goldfish (the water was replaced by oil just in time). I've yet to overcome this tragic, sudden loss. I cry every morning and throughout the day.
