I've heard they do okay with the majority of work they get, which is removal of malware. That's not difficult to do though. I have no idea how they are with hardware issues because the people I know would sooner buy a new computer than think to repair a busted one. Especially with laptops.

Unicode has "characters" that allow you to use ąćcents on any character. In zalgo text, there's basically a lot of them.

To be specific, in certain languages it's not uncommon to be able to stack multiple diacritics on/under a letter, so as many standards usually do, Unicode allows for a surplus of such diacritics so as to avoid future limitations. it's easy enough to assume you may never need more than X amount and then hit backlash from some third-world country with a grossly over-complex writing system.
Zalgo is just a random jumble of such caracters appended to the actual text you entered. You can troll people with this anywhere Unicode is supported, since it's not obvious how to set the char limit for diacritics, and most people don't bother setting it up.

You should just "requisition" a copy of Windows 7 or 8.1 if you need that particular OS. (I'm assuming it would be most convenient since you probably use your computer for games and movies during downtime.) Or you could take the Linux plunge.
