Ubuntu is missing the point of GNU/Linux, which is freedom in computing. But they aim for market share and value convenience over freedom. It's even worse; by teaching people not to care about propritary software, while selling Ubuntu with the "Freedom" buzzword, they are perverting the whole idea about free software.

Do you have a PCI e slot?
If yes then it will work.
If you aren't buying components, where is a lot of years between production, like 30-40 y Back, it is the same.
Does your power supply have the right connectors?
Will it fit in your case without clipping something?
So... this thing is out and I actually tried it.
PROS:

Anyone know of something i can plug into my micro usb port on my phone that just has a female micro usb port on the other end?
I am afraid of wearing out my port on my phone, have had it for 2 years (lg g2) and it has been amazing and still holds its own against most of the flagships out there currently and really want it to last much longer.
I have plugged and unplugged so much shit in there in the 700 days or so ive had it im surprised it has lasted this long.
Im just looking for basically an extender i can leave in there permanently to take the stress off of the port and just plug shit into the female on the extender. Want it to ideally be super short (no cord or anything) just barely stick out of the bottom.
Hope this makes sense. Kind of want something like pic related but much shorter/smaller if that is possible.actually pic related is exactly what i want just much shorter so i dont risk breaking it off taking phone in and out of my pocket.

I'm having flashbacks.
Two of my three GPU fans aren't spinning, how can i figure out if there's something i can tweak to get them working again or if they are legit ded?
They still spin if i flick them with my finger so its not some kind of grease issue, but checking GPU fan speeds using GPUZ with the card like it is right now it wont register anything
am i fucked? should i just jury rig a set of three case fans attached to the card? I actually have room to try that...

Have you tried applying a voltage to the fans that don't work? I assume their is some sort of plug going from the case to the GPU board that you could hook up to ground and + voltage.
Try running a game for awhile, a lot of newer fans won't spin unless GPU reaches a certain temp.

i discovered my fans died when i tried booting a game a couple of hours ago and my computer shut off on its own
then i tried booting different games and three times over it shut down
sitting idle my temps are at 40-50C and sometimes bumped up to 80C
i tried fiddling with Afterburner and setting fans manually to max and they dont move

I'm looking for a new tablet. Needs to be a tablet and not a laptop. I will mainly be using it for watching movies. Must have expandable storage (SD or mini SD). Cloud storage won't work for me, won't have internet access. I was looking at the Microsoft Surface (or Pro). I like them because they run Windows and I could easily transfer my movies and TV shows from my laptop. I like using iPads but it won't work because it doesn't have expandable storage. What do you guys think? What are the best tablets? Price range is probably $700-$800 or less.
