How is Arch Linux so light on RAM with a DE like Cinnamon? Only 770MiB and running Steam and Firefox. I've switched from Windows 10, and that bloated piece of spyware would hover around 2700MiB at idle.

Is all that RAM usage in Windows just for their botnet?

Windows 10 still uses code from the Windows NT days. It's shit.
>>
RAM usage on arch is low because it's usually a minimal installation.

An "out of the box distro" installation usually tries to be usable for the majority of population, so it starts up software that you on your arch installation will never use so it's not even installed.

stuff like avahi, firewalld (which are useless on a desktop, but not having them on a laptop would be fucking annoying) cups server to name a few.

Windows is bloated.
If you ever wondered why Vista was trashed by the average consumer is because fresh installation of XP after a cold boot used ~130MB of RAM, and the same in Vista took ~700MB. It was a huge difference at the time and for many people is now.

Also Window's task manager does count cache in "RAM usage".
Something that your meme-scripts (like screenfetch) don't.
run free -h to see your RAM usage and cache.

>It's unfortunate that Debian is named after Debra and Ian, because having the project named after a white supremacist, who used his ex-wifes name as an trophy. Being that the current year is almost 2016 and is 20 years after Debian started, we should look to the future and not the past. We shouldn't tolerate the project being named after a person who uses the N word, or marginalizes women who've been sexually assaulted. Instead I think we ought to rename the project "Euphemia", which means "good speech" and represents our code of conduct, as well as being the name of Euphemia Lofton Haynes the first African American woman who earned a math PHD.

RIP Ian, and fuck SJWs.

Debian is literally dead from an ideological; standpoint. SJW are doing to take over, and they're going to take over HARD.

Seeing this entire process really makes Ian's death suspicious. They could at least wait until he's buried before burying him.

Botnet aside, who makes the best chinkphone? Oppo? Meizu? Xiaomi? Huawei?

I'm finding the Redmi Note 2 and Mi4C tempting due to the specs for the price and their inclusion of an IR blaster, something I really miss from my old LG.

What do you goys have, and what of it would you recommend?

Not anymore. You shouldn't be storing anything long term on an ssd anyway.

So I grabbed a DS4 today to use with my PC Gaymen and I thought I was going to have to compromise when it came to the on-screen button icons since the controller is pretty much emulating an XBOne controller.

I loaded up Shovel Knight, though, and I was surprised to see the PS icons being used.

Now, is this on a game by game basis, or is the game seeing the DS4 as a DS4? I'm confused. This used to not happen with my DS3.

Now, I'll give you that it's a lot less of a pain to get it working (as in, you don't have to install another program, even then it takes seconds), but that hassle is still worth it being that the DS4 is a better overall controller (I'm looking at you, Dpad).

Because AMD is behind so Intel is free to release new cpus with minor gains.

No reason to go to a 6700k over a 2500k unless you have a good reason, and gaming isn't a good enough reason.

I mean, say I'm signing up for gaymeninhats.com and it wants a password, instead of putting

>password1

I put

>bc547750b92797f955b36112cc9bdd5cddf7d0862151d03a167ada8995aa24a9ad24610b36a68bc02da24141ee51670aea13ed6469099a4453f335cb239db5da

which is the SHA512 hash of "password1". Is that more secure?

Deepin is not Puppy linux nor it claims to be it, but if you ask me this version has improved performance if you compare it from 2014.3, which was good anyway.
