I used to use Chrome, but the botnet isn't worth the features. I tried out a few browsers, and I honestly don't know what to use. I don't want to SJWfox either.
I tried Opera, but it's slow. It honestly is. As well, it just feels... off.
I tried Pale Moon, but I heard that it is behind on security.
I tried SeaMonkey, but it looks like ass.
I tried Vivaldi, but it tries too hard to be pretty and sacrifices functionality. The design is pretentious.
Is Waterfox any good? Is Chromium botnet? It doesn't autoupdate. I just want to know what you use /g/. Fast, non-botnet, minimalistic and functional. Maybe I'm asking too much and am being too picky? Are all browsers doomed to shit?

They were attacked by someone DDoS'ing them and when extorted to get the attack to stop, they capitulated almost immediately.
The attack didn't stop, because it turns out hackers extorting you for money don't honor their word. The people at ProtonMail didn't figure on that.
You can say whatever you want about it being stupid that they didn't realize that would happen on a superficial level, but my deeper concern is this: if they're not thinking very much about the mentality and "modus operandi" of deceptive people like hackers, what possible confidence can I have in their ability to anticipate state-sponsored attackers?
Given that their entire pitch is that they're a safe-ish haven with encryption, situated in a neutral place, etc... it seems a lot like well-intentioned but totally naive people are running this operation, which isn't exactly a good thing.

I think the big problem they're having is they are using server-grade motherboards instead of used workstation LGA 1366 motherboards, such as you might find in a HP z800 or Dell Precision T7500.
It is in their interest for people to think this is a bad idea after all...
This is the wrong way to go with this old xeons.
Drop server motherboards for some 775 ones , mod said mobo to support 771 xeons and overclock say a x5450/60/70 to 4ghz or a bit more.
Should be cheaper and performance will be better than two low clocked potatoes , also mobo will have somewhat better functionality than those server mobos.
