I use Windows 10, various flavours of Linux, Android and OSX almost daily.
Why are so many people religious about what operating systems they use? A mix of several is the ideal solution.
>>54231744
why?
i don't need any of those
stop being a fucking retard, you can run everything on linux
>>54231759
LMAO how about any productivity software, or literally any game with DX11
>>54231865
>productivity software
You mean Microsoft Office? Don't try to stretch it, bucko.
Friendly reminder that if you do any of the following in 2016, you're getting memed.
>using Vim/Emacs unironically
Vim/Emacs' esoteric keybindings made sense 30 years ago, in an age where arrow keys on keyboards were rare and mice-driven GUIs did not exist.
IDEs did not exist either, users were forced to write shitty add-ons to Vim in order to improve productivity until the modern GUI IDE was was introduced.
You have no reason to use terminal-based text editors unless you require the e-peen as a form of life-affirmation.
>using RPN/Postfix/Stack-based calculators and programming languages unironically
Reverse polish notation and postfix expressions made sense 40 years ago, in an age where all calculators could only display 1 line of numbers, people were pretty much forced to do math in postfix notation like a computer.
The electronic logic required to parse algebraic expressions of arbitrary depth would take up an entire room, so people had no choice.
You have no reason to do it today because modern interpreters can take any size monstrocity of an equation and return a correct answer!

Going to buy an ereader (the e-ink kind, not a tablet)
Read a few articles comparing the various ones, but they mostly talked about stuff I don't care about. I plan on almost exclusively using it to read ebooks that I pirate, so pricing and availability of titles on amazon or wherever, as well as features dictionaries or xray or beyond the book don't concern me.
What ereader do you have /g/? I'm in Canada if that makes a difference.
*features like dictionaries
Kindle paperwhite + Calibre works perfectly for pirated ebooks. Kobo is also mentioned pretty often, but I've had both and definitely prefer the paperwhite.
What is x-ray in this context?
What is /g/'s favorite Streaming Stick? I plan on getting one next check but I always got to check in with you guys before I buy anything.
>>54229857
fuck you
No you don't. At least not authentic ones.
>>54229897
I thought we were better than this, friend.

What do you think about Ada?
First epic LE CODING girl.
Truly way ahead of her time.
>>54228687
I think it's pretty neat.
>>54228711
Are you literally retarded? Ada is a programming language responsible for the safe running of many mission critical pieces of software. It powers F-35 stealth fighters, for example.
I bet she was SJW as fuck back then.
GO!!
>marketed towards gaming
>17" or larger screen
>cheap plastic
>is made by Samsung
>isn't 1080p and is 15+ inches

They're all bad, buy a desktop.
>made by alienware
Doesn't have a red dot in the middle of the keyboard
HDMI instead of DisplayPort
Is learning Assembly before C a good idea? I only use Java at work and know smattering of a few other high level languages.
>>54227567
Yes but only after you learn brainfuck
>>54227676
I'd say the correct course of action is:
Befunge -> Brainfuck -> ASM -> C
Would you agree?
>>54227729
I'd say Whitespace all the way before ASM
Hey /g/uys I'm in a dorm writing and essay and i really want to smoke. Unfortunately there's this thing attached to the ceiling about 12 feet off the ground. What's yall's assumption? Is it a smoke detector or just an alarm? Am i safe to vape?

God damn nigga, is that Telus you're on?
I'm on TekSavvy in Dufferin County, about 50k North of Toronto. Pay 35 a month, 15/1 and get unlimited BW. Got a promotional deal with them because I got my parents and some friends moved over. It could be quicker but I'm fine with this.
>>54227114
See if your area is covered by Novus
>>54227696
Teksavvy is quite shitty in BC
