I never owned a apple product I always found them overpriced and overrated but this seems like a good deal and I am tempted to buy it
What /g/ things about the SE?

It really is a pretty good deal for an Apple product. If you can deal with the limitations and whatever /g/ keeps whining about, then go for it. Own an iPhone 5 since release myself, love the design and everything still works flawlessly. Looks like it will do it for another few years, which is pretty great.
>>
>>53658294

$399 for a 4 inch 16 GB storage phone with 2 GB of RAM in 2016 is still a ripoff, no matter what OS the phone is running.

If they weren't greedy and got you at least 32 GB, then it would maybe be an okay deal. You are paying for the 4 inches screen and the Apple tax essentially on something that should cost $299 with all of the above.

>if you can deal with whatever /g/ keeps whining about
/g/ will whine about anything apple would do. there are people here still making threads about steve jobs almost 5 years after the fucker died. the people here might be more obsessed with apple than any stockholder.

Never liked the nitecores. Too little current spread across 4 batteries. I'm using a liitokala. 1A per battery.
Plus it does the discharge capacity test.

Pretty good

Decided to escape the botnet, which fork of Firefox do I get now? List reasons why x is better than y. So far I only used Nightly, as I used Chrome Canary before.

Also, how do I into ricing? about:customizing doesn't even exist in Nightly and the built-in customizing is shit and you can only move elements around, and not even all the elements.
Is there any theme I can just download to make it look like Chrome's Material design?

Don't use developer versions for production environments. Unless you're activity developing for the applications, it has no use on your system and is likely to cause more crashes.

GNU IceCat is probably the most libre, anti-telemetry fork of Firefox.

By the best, I mean that does it work, doesnt make my PC a potato and is not botnet.

Obviously not windows defender.

Go with malwarebytes - but don't keep it open everyday, just open it once / week for a full scan.

And use common sense other than that.

Just installed fresh Win 7 . Everything works fine, should I update it with Windows Update, or did I fall for the botnet meme?

It's rough, because eventually you're going to need an up to date system if you want at the very least some security. But plenty of the newest updates include telemetry and that stupid popup that tells you to update to windows 10 or else you will be a failure at life.
>>
>>53657740

No you don't. You need a firewall and that's it.

I care about what is done with the content I create. I care about my privacy, because not everything needs to be public even if it seems harmless. I don't want to get targeted with ads, have all my electrical communications surveilled at all times. Sometime I just want to have a one to one conversation with someone, without all the marketing engines writing everything up.

Steve Jobs as I understand it was a paranoid mother fucker who would regularly buy new cars and NOT get them registered. When the trial period for his place holder tag expired he would just buy a new car. This was to avoid getting tracked buy the government, which basically makes him a very wealthy /g/entooman. Now I don't see the point in OSX when Linux is obviously the superior option because it's open source, but when it comes to closed source, what phones are better and being all around secure?

Before this scandal with Tim Cook fighting the NSA, I would have assumed it was the Blackberry since it has virtually no features except a very basic browser and texting/calling, and fewer features obviously means fewer exploits. What does /g/ have to say on the matter.

Linux is a piece of shit.

Package managers are a mess, you either get buggy bleeding edge software or outdated stuff.
There's no good looking, polished, feature-rich desktop environment, they all suck in some way.
Doesn't work well with high resolution.
No good trackpad integration.
List could go on.

If you take a look to the screenshot:

That "background page:Vivaldi - App: Vivaldi" process is a clear indication that Vivaldi is only Chromium with a bundled add-on to create their "feature rich UI" - Kill that process and the browser is still around, but the UI is gone.

So they take Open Source Chromium and bundle it with a third class add-on for which you need only one dev most of the time to create it, and they have almost 20 people working on it?

If you use Vivaldi, better use Firefox with CTR - Fully Open Source, no fake browser.

vivaldi is a meme
>>
we need to bring this to the surface. they cant get away with this

Sure it's just Chromium with a really nice UI but I fail to see how that's a bad thing.
