Is it at all possible to end up with a legit Windows 10 Pro install if I install a patched or pirated W8 or W7 Pro copy?

Asus makes good laptops, at least when talking about this higher end stuff, but I'd throw in whatever extra is needed to get the 980M version.
I have the last flagship model with the 880M and it runs things pretty smoothly, but it's not going to run things that well a year from now and that model you posted is only 20% better than this.
980M is twice as fast, get that one.

Right now no games are using Dx12, and won't be for at least 2 years. Until then windows 10 has no benefit in games.
Well, it got some minor upgrades like a terminal emulator that can be resized without going into its NT 3.51 era context menu, Explorer not hanging as often while waiting for network drives, etc.
I/O performance might be slightly better in general, though it's clearly still orders of magnitude behind Linux in some situations.
Not sure if 10 is an upgrade from 7 desu. If you had 8 I'd recommend it.

Hey guys.
I'm a second year SE student and I've been doing pretty well with my CS classes. But my prof slapped us with a inheritance example project due only a couple days after she assigned it to have it due before the thanksgiving break.
Anyway, I've had like no time to figure this shit out, and I'm stuck.
Basically, I have to have a superclass (called Person) that holds String variables name and birthYear, and two subclasses (Student and Instructor) that inherit those variables and add String major (for student) and String salary (for Instructor).
I have to create instances of each class and set their variables then print out those variables, including the inherited ones, through what I imagine is inherited methods too (super.print()).
I'd really appreciate help.

Seems like you got the instances part down, and as I understand it, you now have to write 3 classes, right? Where exactly are you stuck? Did you already tried to write the superclass?
this is the superclass Person.
I have a constructor for no parameters and constructor to make one with set variables (name and birthYear).
Print should be the one that gets extended and overridden because the next two classes have to print their extra variable, but I'm not sure how to do that.
I have a macbook pro, i think it was a 2013 model.
It hasn't werked in over a year. As in it wont turn on. I think either the battery broke or the new charger i bought was a dud.
The original charger wasn't in good shape anyway, so that's why I'm unsure if it truly is broken. However the charger i got after, isn't that likely to be a dud.
I'm not hardware savvy. Is it worth tinkering around with it finding out what the main problem is and possibly buying parts to fix it? Seems a bit expensive to do so. The charger alone is expensive.
Or is it worth selling at all? Maybe selling parts? Is that a thing? The laptop was left in a garage for just over a year in is in such a shitty state physically that i doubt selling the whole thing completely would be an option. Are there any parts that might be worth selling?
Also, what would be the best way to recover data from the harddrive? I have a regular laptop running Linux, is it possible to somehow connect the macbooks harddrive to my laptop and recover some data?
Again, i am not hardware savvy, always been a software guy.

It has to work well with Linux (Ubuntu).
It will be used for pentesting/programming.
I prefer bigger displays.
Price is not really a problem, keep it as low as possible though.
