Hi /g/, long time lurker, first time OP here

I'm a third year computer science student. I've had C, C++, Java and Visual Basic, and now I want to learn Python. I have a few basic questions:

How hard would Python be to learn for someone with my (almost entirely OOP) background?

What compiler would /g/ recommend?

I'm *leaning* towards a bachelor specialty/masters in cybersecurity. Is it true that Python would be a very valuable language to learn for that field?

Is it a useful language to become proficient in, from a career/job skills perspective?

Does Python have a "preferred operating system", i.e. an OS that most of its programming is done for?

Thanks

Managers are shitty.

>hurr durr we need to hire the best people do the job I'm suppose to do.

fucking faggot shits.

I love when this type of shit happens OP, and then a day IT quits and everyone is worse off than before.

How can anyone be hired for their skill in html/css?

It only takes a day to learn.

I've tried out gpaint on ganoo linux but it doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for, is there a different lightweight image editing program I can use that will allow me to dynamically change canvas size like in ms paint? Or should I just use paint under Wine?

Also I wasn't a huge fan of i3, would dwm or awesome be worth a shot?
>>
>>45066250
I sort of had this problem years ago when I hopped onto my first distro. I eventually gave up and went with editing (even really small things) via GIMP or Krita. There is this one program, Kolourpaint, which at first seemed like a carbon copy of paint, and it is, the only problem is that it screws up with text. Give it a try and see what I mean, or stick with GIMP/Krita for your basic editing needs. It's over kill, I know, but I didn't find anything else.

Hey /g/, I'm not very tech inclined and I thought you might explain something to me. Sorry if this is considered shitposting here.

I get that when you delete something from a hard drive it's not really deleted, just that the space is made available for writing over. And I get that to scrub a hard drive you have to write over all this "free" space with nonsense so that nothing is recoverable. But I don't get why multiple passes are required to wipe a drive: why does one pass of writing bullshit over "deleted" data not make said data unrecoverable?

Thanks.

> why does one pass of writing bullshit over "deleted" data not make said data unrecoverable?

It does. You need a lot of equipment, time and money to recover that data.
>>
>>45076724
But why do multiple passes make it harder? Why isn't once over and it's gone forever?
