Icom discontinued their iconic IC-R20 wideband handheld receiver with nothing in the pipeline to replace it. This receiver has been a mainstay of hams, radio enthusiasts, and even government agencies across the world since its introduction.
It was designed with low power consumption as a goal, and met this goal admirably. The receiver could be described as adequate, but nothing special. It didn't do any trunking, so if listening to the cops and fire department is your thing you're out of luck. The UI was byzantine at best, like all Japanese radios it was...

>If the openSUSE board kicked you out and created a rule that forbade you from ever running openSUSE again... what system would you use?
>Wow, that's a good question. I'm not sure I'd make my own, there are enough distributions out there. Forking openSUSE would be tempting just so I could keep on using it, but that would be selfish. I think Arch, but I'd implement my own openQA instance between their testing repos and stable and run a custom tested derivative..something in between because I think I'd find their stable repository too slow after running on Tumbleweed for so long”
>You do realize that, by law, every Arch user must now post that "openSUSE Chairman would consider using Arch" to reddit no less than three times.
>At least it would give them something else to talk about than "Hey did you know, I use Arch Linux?" ;)

I took my water damaged iPhone into the T-mobile store claiming it "just stopped turning on after an update" The phone has positive water damage indicators on the inside and is obviously damaged.
They actually submitted the warranty request. My question is, if I take the new phone and mail the damaged one back, will it eventually catch up with me? Or can I keep denying it like Nixon?
>getting an iPhone in the first place
They will bill you.
Nice try.

Why aren't you using the best browser, /g/?
>Better user interface than Chrome/Chromium: no downloads bar, best new-tab page, full integration with Windows, uses native notifications.

>Opera Turbo for even faster browsing/simple vpn. You can browse 4chan in your school/work.

My USB, which I had a functioning iso of Kali Linux on, got corrupted after removing the USB out before ejecting.
I'm not able to access anything on the USB nor reformat it. The USB is being recognized as existing on Windows, Mac, and Linux but I can't figure out how to reformat it. I tried all I can so far.
It's showing up as XXXXXXXXXX U181CONTROLLER USB Device and that Russian looking symbol.
Any ideas to help me with this? I'm not concerned about keeping the data on it, I want to be able to reformat the USB so...

What's /g/'s opinion on old communication technology and the place it has in the modern world?
Is there space for pure text in the current multi-media environment of the web?
Not really. Information was rare then... no information is rare anymore.

I'd say information is rarer now in comparison to non-information.

What does "unlimited lte" really mean /g/?
Sprint and t-mobile both offer unlimited lte plans but does it really mean "unlimited"?
Is there a point where they can shut you down or throttle you hard to 2G speeds?
If so what is that point, 20GB, 50GB, 100GB, 500GB, 2TB?
I ask this because I almost reached 200GB of data usage on my metropcs phone last month. I'm afraid that I'll suddenly just lose my service or something.
>>53866021
Wind (Canada) throttles data speeds after 2GB
>>53866021 >>53866047
This applies to all "unlimited LTE data" plan. The carrier will set a "high-speed" cap (eg. 20GB). After you reached the cap, the carrier will throttle your data to 2G/GPRS speed.
>>53866089
They have to explicitly state that in their marketing. I just got a refund check from Straight talk because they did this shit without telling anyone.
