Back in my day, apps were just website portals anyway. Those were good times.

What's a good tool that lets me run a light web server that renders markdown and mathjax so I can write my notes and host them on my server?
Similar to https://github.com/joeyespo/grip but with MathJax for formulas
i had ~40 tabs open in chrome and for some reason my history decided not to allow me to open them back up all at once, instead showing me the same tab 10 times
i had to go to my history and manually open a bunch of the tabs but a lot are lost due to being in a second window
is there a way to get them all back?
How do other KDE users who also use kwallet deal with typing in the password upon login?
I've got a script which copies my password to the clipboard, but I'm not sure if it's the best solution.
Is CyberGhost VPN bullshit?
Is there a better alternative for a newbie like me?
I hate apple, but why is it so pretty? why can't microsoft into design? (we all know freetards can't into design, so no need to ask)
Can't microsoft just hire some real designers?

Welcome to /fglt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:
0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls...

Did anyone else recently realize how much they hate a lot of stuff about technology?
The culture is fucking atrociously bad, with half of it being neckbeards with too much time on their hands shitting on those who don't have identical views, and the other half being obnoxious "gamer" faggots who always buy the latest nvidia GPU like the consumerist whores they are.
The job market is shit. There's not exactly a shortage of jobs but there are so many people that finding a position that isn't "work 60 hour weeks, no overtime" is...

Technology is very broad
pluumbing is just mastery of plumbing technologies
>>54581118
>Not including Indians in his rant on tech
Have fun being a plumber in your poo in loo country.
>>54581118
At least there is still some innovation going on unlike every other industry.
A shame the boom is coming to an end but so do all things that come to pass.
>Fuck this shit, I'm going to go be a plumber or a carpenter or some shit.
That feel honestly its more rewarding nicer work doing stuff with your hands if you can and your health is good go for it.
Be honest /g/
If this implies they're going to ditch more ports and make you pay extra for a dongle, no thanks.
There was a time when I would've considered buying a MBP, but with the way Apple has been shitting the bed when it comes to practical design over the past few years, I've lost all interest.
>>54580598
>buying Mac
Nope. I have a desktop
>>54580598
I have a MacBook from last year. It is trash--the keyboard is miserable. If thinning the MBP means they'll use that keyboard, fail.
What is objectively the best laptop size?
14"
12-13" is too small
15" is too large
14" is Juuuuust right.
>>54578895
12-13 inches for a laptop you need to move with constantly, 14 for a general use laptop, anything bigger you may as well get a desktop.
>>54578895
12,5"
Reminder:
>Only 32 kilobytes of RAM in the Apollo capsules' computers was enough to put men on the moon and safely get them back to Earth. The Voyager deep space probes that sent us a wealth of images and scientific data from the outer reaches of the solar system (and still continue to do so from interstellar space) have on-board computers based on a 4-bit CPU. An 80C85 CPU with 176 kilobytes of ROM and 576 kilobytes of RAM was all that controlled the Sojourner robot that drove across the surface of Mars and delivered geological data data and...

Consumerism is the only reason why you need computers and the Internet these days. Why can't everyone just be satisfied with telephones for communication and microform for researching information?
>>54578699
But do they run gentoo?
>>54578699
A CPU preforming relatively simple tasks like telling a thruster to fire or RCS jets is completely different from running modern games and programs. Rendering hundreds of thousands of calculations a second to create a realistic environment in which a player a interact is much harder to do than that what the Apollo missions were doing.
Fucking autist.
What's the dumbest "hacking", that you've seen in a movie? Pic very related.

Buying a phone, primary concern is battery life. Budget cannot handle a major purchase like the S7.
After research, currently considering:
-Motorola X Play
-Oppo R9 Plus
-Huawei Mate 8 (leaning to this the most atm)
-Samsung A9 Pro (not yet released)
-Samsung A7
-Lenovo Zuk Z1
Any battery-focused smartphones that I missed?
Thanks.
