What is the point of this edge screen meme?
all they showed in the ad was the ability to see what type of notification you got while the screen is face down.
couldn't they just had an extra LED on the back, that glow different colors to show type of notification?
>>51775776
Social status, nothing more.
You have to be more careful while gripping it
They can sell it for more

Thanks for the idea
I got $25 from Amazon to buy whatever from their app store but I don't really use my phone for anything besides texting and calls. Are there any apps you ACTUALLY use?
I'm a musician/student/elementary teacher if that helps give ideas for anything
Thanks
>>51775717
I just got the same. Plus a 5$ coupon to give a friend. So bump.

We know that in history what is once fantasy becomes reality with time.
What do you think humanity could achieve within a million years, in terms of technology?
>>51775685
Humanity isn't gone exist that long
>>51775733
At least not in a form that would be recognizable as human to us.
>>51775685
Once we deal with our biological limitations by technological augmentation it's going to be easy.
I think that this is possible:
*supercomputer the size of a city in space -> why? to learn how to travel in time, to learn about consciousness and a whole new branches of sciences
*superconductivity used everywhere
*using neutrinos to communicate through space
*collective brains
Why do people actually use this shitty software, when Krita is far superior?
>GIMP
+ Tons of features
+ Numerous plugins
- Horrendous brush engine
- The UI is confusing as fuck holy shit
- It's made in GTK
>Krita
+ User friendly interface
+ Fantastic brush engine
+ Great tools for digital painting and image manipulation alike
+ It's made in Qt
- Missing some features present in GIMP

Do you want to edit images or do you want to work on the code of an image editor?
The framework should only be important for one of those tasks.
Anyone update to 10.11.2? I've been ignoring all of the beta updates.

You can buy those xeons for like 20 dollars on fleabay.
Ram is dirt cheap right now, and 80gb is pleb tier might cost you 15 dollars.
7300gt might as well toss.
Wouldn't even offer 250

how does it feel that your low quality freetard software will never get popular?
>>51775521
you know, in fact it feels great to know my rare software won't get popular as all the popular one is shit or becomes shit if it wasn't yet

Like in the nineties

Dear /g/,
A few days ago, I had an interesting discussion with my friend about how programmers are treated/seen in modern times. Programmers are the architects of our future. The world over relies on the work these people do, but they are seldom seen as anything but nerds, loners and losers, seldom worthy of professional acknowledgement.
I personally believe that while programmers ought to be distinguished, constraints applied by acadamia and the relative "newness' of the field hold back positive public perception and reverence. Hear me out:Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

>What SHOULD be done?
Nothing. Programmers are a commodity. Only exceptionalism should be revered in a field where anyone can call themselves one after writing their first "hello world" smartphone app.
Also, architect here. Stop using our fucking word. It takes, on average, then years to become a licensed architect. And there are strict limitations on who can legally call themselves one.

Repairing notebooks is hell
>>51775272
as an Apple Genius, it's fairly easy. We just take the laptop out the back and toss it, open up a new one, and tell the customer that all his data got lost while they were being transferred over.
>Are you ready to take on this challenge?
I've had this 1.43 MB archive laying around for a long time. It's from a myth that has been circulating for a long time around the internet according to which inside this compressed archive there is a complete and functional copy of Office 2007 (~ 750 MB).
But because of its high compression it takes a lot of time to extract.
I've tried several time opening it but it takes about a day on my 8 years old shitty dual core laptop.
Could anyone of you verify if this myth is true?...

Obviously to open the link you have to replace the space with /.

I doubt it.
I don't even need to download the file to tell you it's just an archive that would fill your whole storage if you compress it.

how is this even possible?
Doesn't really look like a scam... Thou it may come with some battery life issues if they want any real performance, but AMD has put quite a lot of effort into making their chips competitive in the tablet space. After all the main reason why the only x86 tablets out there are Intel ones is because Inter has literally been giving their chips out for free.
So the smach z is not vaporware anymore
>AMD SOC
So no battery life?
