Remember when The Verge was primarily about covering gadgets, technology, and tech companies, instead of generalized lowest-common-denominator pop culture topics targeting every conceivable demographic for sponsors?
The Buzzfeed disease is destroying everything.
The Verge was always utter shit.

Neo-Kotaku/Gizmodo, staffed by edgelords who quit that shop to begin with.
Gawker and Vox are both everything wrong with journalism in microcosm, and if you just now figured out they're terrible, thanks for finally not being cancer anymore.

This but OP is only 16 so he doesn't know who runs the verge or what they did before that website. That crew of shitheads have always been cock suckers.

that was a really long time ago though, so im sure that was abandoned.
The Lynx webbrowser
It does not have javascript or pictures. so how the captcha is going to run I don't know. you can probably (maybe) still post if you have a 4chan user. At least you can read

I have been given the choice of picking between the following laptops as my christmas/going away to university present(electrical engineering major), and obviously less expensive is better.
>Surface 3 4gb ram/128gb emmc, with keyboard and pen - $673
>Surface Pro 3 i3, with keyboard and pen - $751
>Surface Pro 4 m3 or i5, with keyboard - $1004(m3) or $1101(i5)

Post the storage and screen configs for the laptops. The t450 is not worth it if you're getting a 1600x900 TN panel and spinning storage.
>>51963411
Yeah, that's the issue. The T450 is the shittiest i5 configuration with the 1366x768, 500gb HDD and 4gb ram, and I think it's actually overpriced compared to what they actually go for from lenovo.
All of the surfaces are 128gb storage and 4gb ram with their nice screens that they all come with. the surface 3 is only 1920x1280 but that's still nice on a 10.8", not sure if that would be nice as a primary computer, though and I'd probably rather put in the extra cash for that SP3 i3 since...

Thinkpad T450. If you're EE then more ports are better for the old tech you might be interfacing with. Sometimes labs use RS-485 or RS-232 on com ports for controlling robots or reading analog signals but I might be old now and maybe they use USB. The keyboard is the comfiest out of all of the laptops you've posted. If not that one go full consumer and get the Macbook Air, you wouldn't regret either purchase much if at all.
The yoga 14 really isn't worth it unless you're lugging around a Cintiq right now. All of the surface laptops are not...

Have any of you ever killed a motherboard or other computer component from Electrostatic discharge?
I never have and yet I still handle components like a dumbass.
Never worn a anti-static wristwrap.
Forgot standoffs on a motherboard once
Touch components while they are still running.
I once plugged in a fan to the control panel wrong and smoke started billowing out of my case... But that's for another thread.

How about fucking not.

The only thing Ive touched was the harddrives. Youd be stupid to touch anything else. Forget the parts, youre asking to die.

Once again Android wins, only Google could innovate by producing the world's first phone that can be bent in half with 0 force.

How come Android never had its equivalent of the iPod touch? Essentially a (relatively) cheap, no-contract PMP that would potentially ease consumers into data contract handsets?
They did, but no kid wants an ipod touch knockoff with shitty apps
This costs over a thousand dollars. Pure audiophile-grade!
Because you can just buy a cheap, prepaid phone and never activate it. I'm sure there are android PMPs out there, but why get it when your phone already does it or you can get a cheap phone to use as a PMP.
whats your setup headphone audiophiles of /g/??
mine:

Let's stop the consumerism, /g/, this is a general to discuss everything YOU make, not Big Brother makes.
I've recently been working on creating a high-efficiency, high-frequency, high-power air-cored resonant transformer (tesla coil), for the lulz. I plan to have an operating frequency of 15 Mhz, which is obviously beyond the range of standard semi-conductors, so I'll use valves, an operating power of 5kW, it's currently on the planning phase, but I've already figured the tube I'll use, how I'll cool it, the schematic, basically. But...

What are the best options for processor and motherboard on that budget since a video card is out of the question? I'll also just give him my spare RAM and PSU I have lying around.
find a second hand motherboard/cpu combo. maybe a first gen i5. then spend the rest on a second hand 600 series gpu.
