Can we finally put an end to this meme?
The "macbooks are overpriced" meme doesn't work with MBPs. But with Macbooks Air it works.

>he can't do all his work in any computer whatsoever
>he owns his computer, he doesn't just use a flashdrive and borrow people's assets
dunno about overpriced, but the software is overbugged.
Tell me a function on your computer and i'll tell you how my OS X or iOS devices manages to bug the fuck out of it (on a clean install)
What is the one pdf/book reader to rule them all on windows or linux? I just want something that support most file formats and will remember my pages and tabs.
Googlechrome

I use Okular

Does that remember your place in pdfs when you close it?
Enough of this transition era /g/, I'm tired of diversification, when will we have the honor of witnessing a life when you just plug your phone to a monitor/keyboard and enter desktop mode? When is native linux distros support coming out?WHEN WHEN WHEN? I'm so frustrated
Surface Phone.
Never.

I can already do this with my Lumia 950.
My Google cardboard viewer just arrived. What can I do with it? Any recommendations?

Windows 7 vs Ubuntu.
What is the better ?

Windows 7 is better than ubuntu.
I cuck windows 7 inside a VM though
Why does Microsoft still WRONGLY use GB instead of GiB?
Apple, Gnome, KDE and other DEs get it right.
Is this a conservative/republican thing? Like imperial units?
>>54524824
Because most people know it as GB

SI doesn't have a monopoly on language, sory.

Holy shit, you're a special sort of stupid, ain't ya?
Can I install raspbian on a netbook? If not, is there any lightweight OS out there (preferably as light or lighter than Raspbian)?
I got a netbook as a gift, and I think I want to use them as secondary media consumption/shitposting machine, but the preinstalled windows 8.1 made shit almost unbearably slow.
>>54524785
Can we get some idea of the specs?
I'm running Ubuntu mate pretty smooth and comfy on an Intel d2500.
>>54524785
No, unless the netbook uses an ARM processor. And even then it might be lacking drivers as raspbian was specifically made for the raspberry pi.
>what is raspbian based on?
>go to site
>they ask you nicely to turn off your adblocker so they can stay afloat
Well, why not?

because I can, fuck wired anyway
Where can I view that page?

Welcome to /fglt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:
0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls...

Chromium. Fucking chromium. Everytime I try with both my AMD GPU and integrated intel graphics, any driver, any DE, both wayland and xorg, any composite manager, I cannot get rid of tearing on that. Firefox is fine, most applications are fine. But not Chromium. Not that piece of shit. I don't know what else to do.
I use webmin to control my ubuntu server from my local network. Is there any reason why the interface won't always load full? Sometimes some of the icons don't load and I have to refresh a couple of times.
Server isn't under massive load so I don't really know where to start.

What's your problem with firefox or icecat? I could help you get things you need working with them.
/g/ents after a decade of getting in trouble with professors (my fault ofc), bosses and having issues with focus/ staying at one place my doc thinks I have ADD. I got pissed after I started few projects and couldn't focus to finish even one of them, so I went to my doc for advice.
My question for /g/ents with similar diagnose is: Is there a way for you to beat it without medications (how do you plan/organize yourself)? I'm having issues with focus, listening, reading trough whole task before starting to work on it just to see I've done it completely wrong...

I have it. Makes it really hard to focus and get shit done. I get focused on something for a few minutes and then all concentration is on something else. I'll get lost in thought or something and it really fucks me up any time I try to do work.
Maybe try removing all distractions nearby and think as much as you can about work?
>>54524530
There's so much over diagnosis of ADD in the USA, it's not even funny anymore.
Do you know how many people with ADD I know? Zero.
>>54527049
I'm trying. So far I'm failing miserably. I'll try to use timers and notes/schedules more often but still not sure how to focus more. Today I took my first SSRI for anxiety after years of trying to get over it without any medications. I guess I have to try harder.
We're almost halfway through 2016.
