I'll make this brief, I hope one of you has had this experience.
I have a Motorola G 2nd gen and yesterday it stopped showing me notifications. It also will not let me swipe down to see notifications or anything at the top of the screen. I also cannot access quick settings when you swipe down twice. The only way I can tell if I have a notification is when the light starts blinking at the front.
I have scanned all options in settings and nothing seems to be messed up. Online I can't find any real solutions other than factory reset which I'd rather...

Unfortunately the option might be factory resetting or you could try a different rom like CM13.

Could someone share his experience with liquidcooling systems?
-Are they worth it?
I mean fan noise is really annoying. Yes you can change your cpu fan but when it's about videocard fan it's a different situation, especially if you are using linux.
-Is it hard to assemble and build this system own your own?
[Update]
It's generally pretty simple. You'll have a waterblock that sits on your cpu(Same as a cpu fan/cooler would) and/or one that sits gpu, tubing that connects from the water reservoir, through a radiator to cool the liquid, then to said water block. You can use distilled pater and you'll need some kind of biocide or anti-corrosiveshit to keep the water clean, etc.
The harder part of it is planning out where to set it all up in your computer and planning how the tubing will run with no kinks in it. There's plenty of how-to's floating around.
And it's worth it if oyu want super quiet gaming shits, and if you overclock things and need to really keep it cool.
Has anyone built or thought about building a new, high-end PC in one of these old ass cases? The only issue I can think of would be ventilation/probably no watercooling.
That particular case, I think, pre-dates the atx standard. I don't know if there'd be enough space for a modern motherboard, the motherboard mountings will be in the wrong place, and the psu and power switch connectors won't have the right pinout.
An early ATX case, on the other hand, you should be ok.
>>55240225
in terms of the op, you are right, but even these pre-atx cases can be rigged to work

Yes I've thought about it but i've been unable to find a case.
Hey, /g/uys. I have to go to Alaska for reasons, for 12 months and I don't want to pay electricity bills for a heater and a PC while there.
It's a shared bath and the company is paying for the water, but food, light and lodging is my concern.
What video card would keep my keep my room nice and toasty through the cold nights?

Anything Fermi. Also, get a Pentium 4 or Pentium D.
I usually shitpost here, but as someone who used to be outdoor manual labor I can tell you right now your worry shouldn't be what PC build you're going to be using friend.
Have a hand crank light, dry non-perishable foods, and make sure you have more than one pair of thermal underwear layers.
When I used to work in (and on one occasion even under this temp) -20F I had to wear boxers, thermals, a gym shorts then pants in that order, expensive socks, sturdy boots. A turtleneck, work shirt, fleece jacket, then outside jacket. Fleece gloves, with surplus army...

Thanks for the help guys.
I'm learning about the graphics pipeline. As I understand it, you feed it collections of vertices, edges, faces etc (aka meshes). After the vertex shader comes the primitive/shape assembly stage. What is the point of that process though, what is it actually doing? Aren't the mesh(es) already defined as a bunch of primitives?
>>55240018
This is too graphic designe for me
Yes.
Ask /3/. We don't actually know that stuff here. We only know that AYYYMD is bankrupt and finished housefire and Nvidia is a bunch of jews.

Sounds like user error, not to mention the fact that PXE booting is a freaking goddamn stupid pile of shit in the first place.
How do I increase my typing speed?
>>55239929
By typing and by making great effort to not make mistakes.
Use the correct typing hand locations, do tons of wpm tests, http://play.typeracer.com/ will make it more fun.
Git good.
Anyone ever buy from NCIX? What are your expiriences with them and their products? How long does it take to ship?

Never had a problem with them.
No, but I won a free mechanical keyboard and headset from their youtube channel.
My hardware source of choice. Make sure to price match. I use pricebat and shopbot to check for the best price. Shipping has always been fine.

Buying a new laptop for college that I'll mainly use for studying but also for occasional gaming. Thinking about buying the SAGER NP8657-S. What are your guys thoughts on this? One of my concerns is the battery life, will it last me through the day if I'm not playing games on it?
My budget is 1K-1.5K if anyone wants to recommend something else. Thanks pals

No, because it will have a ridiculously powerful system and a tiny battery.

Whats the point of overclocking
is it really worth making your pc run at the speed of light and risk blowing it up for a gain of 2fps in your vidyagames?
>>55239522
OC won't blow your CPU up. CPUs are probably the least likely part to die on your computer.
You overclock shitty cheap hardware to make it work like good hardware
>>55239522
>and risk blowing it up
this risk is so small as to be negligible. your system will become unstable long, long before it is at risk of damage. If it is unstable, just reset the CMOS data.
>for a gain of 2fps in your vidyagames?
you can easily make a larger gain than that.
Boss tasked me with doing some research on libraries for process management on Windows.
Stuff like starting multiple processes, distribute them on cores, checking if they're alive, gathering data, etc.
Is there a framework made for this? I know that everything so far can be done in C# alone, but the project is huge and there will be much more to do. A project where they gave the whole structure more thought than I have to time to would be great. Best performance is crucial.
If not, what are some starting points I should read into? Also, no Java.
Maybe this is what you're looking for ?

That sounds most certainly useful. Do you know a framework which already implements such .NET components efficiently for broad use?
>>55239644
Sorry, don't know further than that.
