Now, I could've just brought this to /sqt/ but I thought it might warrant a discussion on it's own right.
Is there any truth to the whole "performance" mousepad market? I was fairly skeptical about high-grade mice until I actually bought one and realized how much of a difference a good optical sensor makes over a shitty cheap logitech laser one. But then there's mousepads. I've heard from some of the most reputable tech reviewers that mousepads can actually make a difference, and I have no idea how. Can someone better explain why I should invest forty fucking dollars into a sheet of fabric?
And assuming they are actually worth an investment... What are some recommended mousepads?
Literally entirely preference, primarily based on how smooth and glidey you want your surface to be. Spending more than $15 on a regular mousepad or $30 on an XL mousepad is completely retarded.

I wish they would make a gaming trackball.
Trackballs are the CRTs of mice. You can't beat them.

Best brand for Mousepads is Artisan. Unfortunately they're Japanese made (inb4 weeb), and you need to import them. They custom make your pad with the surface and rubber strength you want.
Been using a Shidenkai Xsoft for years now. I've never seen anything coming close to that kinda surface anywhere again. It's textile covered with a thin (and flexible) layer of ultrafine glass pearls.
So a notebook came to me and the owner wanted it to be fixed since its having alot of BSODs so dig in to his notebook which is very suspicious and i found out that its a heavily moded notebook by chinks. Even the stickers and labels are made to look like its a legit to match its moded specs
Now the problem is im trying to reformat it but it seems that the HDD's are locked or unable to be detected because they changed alot ot make it look like a 1 Tera with a core i7 and an 8GB ram which is bullshit.
The HDD's are locked?
Care to go into more detail on that?
>>52008477
I dont know how its locked but whenver i get into the win7 set up, it wont detect the drive it only showed a 9gb hard drive.

Yes, it's Google Play credit
I signed up May 2014 and haven't gotten a single survey other than the ones you get at the beginning for using the app for the first time.

Hey /g/ I have a real problem. I recently started a new job and the people here are very noisy. I have to work on different workstations and instruments around the facility so I take my laptop with me and type my reports as I work. They peek at my laptop and constantly talk about what I'm doing and how far have I gotten on my reports.
I need a program/setup to type discreetly so that no one would know at a glace what i'm writing. I can't find anything online since I can't find proper search terms for this situation and everything that comes up is...

Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are three ways to try Linux, you can:
1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with Linux (not recommended)
If you are serious about switching to Linux and if you have Windows dual-booted...
