Are multiprocessor boards still a thing? Or is it better to buy one fast processor?
>>52026927
Install gentoo
>>52026927
I seem to recall seeing a dual processor Intel server board recently.
But for most uses, multicore is plenty.
>>52027324
This. Gentoo on any processor configuration always gives the highest frame rates and resolution. My kd ratio on halo tripled when I switched my Playstation to gentoo.
Push it to the limits edition.
>>52026542
this is the limit?
riced CPU-Z edition
Load CPU voltage is 1.368
>>52026854
That's pretty high.
I get 1.2v @ 4.5Ghz
Why don't they make computers modular so you can just replace or upgrade the part that you need?

Do pdfs have metadata like "Author, Data, Title, Publisher" in the file?
My phone suddenly has a thin pink line from top to bottom on the left side.
Is there any way to fix this?
what's a good computer table?
All of them
Poor? Get a used desk from an office that's closing. You'll get REAL wooden desk that is cheaper than any where else and will outlive you.

But what if people did lewd things all over that desk
What are you using /g/?

Still haven't moved to the new build. I'll get around to it eventually.
why does /g/ hate manjaro so much?
I actually like it. The i3 flavor is already riced out, which is nice for the lazy people
It manages to be more pointless than Ubuntu flavour #573

Nexus 6, Nexus 5x or Nexus 6p?
I am tired of my nexus 6 and its xbox huegness, I haven't seen the 6p in person but it looks like it has a considerably smaller footprint.
Having a huge phone has benefits but I drive a forklift at work and can't even get this sombitch out of my pocket without taking off my seatbelt and standing up.
Also the battery life is meh and so is the camera, the screen is awesome though
>>52024381
This.
Portability is KEY. You will be using the phone for several months to possibly a few years.
Get yourself a 5X.
Get an iPhone 6S. They're awesome and the normal one is literally the perfect screen size. iOS is awesome as well.
I have a 5X and love it. All 3 phones are on sale right now, and if you don't care about fingerprint sensors I'd just go with the least expensive (~200), as the N6 is gonna receive updates for quite a while.
Which DE is the best and why it's Xfce?
Discuss.
It has just enough features without having bloat, and it's lightweight.
>>52024060
>minimalistic
>utilitarian
>good looking
>resource light
>very customizable
I'll probably never use another DE again.
>>52024060
It's a great DE. The only thing that brothers me is the fact that the xfce4-powermanagement or whatever its called doesn't work on my notebook.

There are three ways to try Linux, you can:
1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with Linux (not recommended)

Anyone? And is it even worth resizing my partitions if it only means more time will pass before it gets filled up again? Is there no automatic cleaning function for this?2
Alright /flt/, I'm kind of at a loss for what to do.
Trying to install grub2 for UEFI on Gentoo, but no matter what I try, it always drops me at a grub rescue shell when I try and boot the machine. What gives? I formatted the /boot as fat32, followed all the UEFI specifics for the gentoo handbook, ran the export grub platform for EFI, did the install on sda, did mkconfig and then rebooted, and then it's still fucking me.
Also, the efibootmgr isn't working because EFU variables are somehow not supported.

Why are you still using windows?
because:
1) I use this computer for gaming
2) I don't develop nor know anything about programming
3) Most programs/games are only available in windows
4) I can handle most windows problems well, so no bug problems
There is no reason for me to use another operative system.
>>52023267
Well, 95% of the time I use GNU/Linux. I only boot into Windows on my desktop occasionally to play a video game. I use Linux for literally everything else.

you may as well have just said "im a retard" and left it at that.
