ITT we discuss all things apple and apple technology.
Anyone keen for that new iPhone about to be released?
No 3.5mm Jack on the new iPhone 7? No worries, just get an adapter!
Is iPhone 5s still the most aesthetically pleasing iPhone released? You tell me!
Get in here fa/g/g/ots!
>>53511664
iphone 5S the goat for its time but I think the nexus 6P looks better, granted its pretty much an iphone 5s rip off tho
still better than 99% of phones out there
>>53511700
IPhone 5s is still the best iPhone, with the exception of internal hardware.
>feels nice to hold
>looks beautiful
>form factor
Damn if apple hadn't fallen for the big phone meme I'd still be with them.
With the 3.5mm thing, I get both sides. You will probably need an adapter and those are just annoying and ugly. You also will need a different one of you want to charge your phone while you listen to it.
On the other side, though, you can have a nice built in DAC and amp. You can also have a pre set EQ. If third parties use it right (and some already have) it could be pretty cool
>Last month we reported that Debian developers were considering dropping their modified edition of Firefox, named Iceweasel, in order to resume packaging Mozilla's Firefox complete with the "Firefox" name and branding. >Last week the Debian project moved forward with this plan, packaging the Firefox web browser in place of Iceweasel. People who currently use the re-branded Iceweasel browser will automatically receive the new Firefox package as an update. "This took longer than it should have, but a page is now officially turned. I uploaded Firefox and Firefox ESR to Debian Unstable. They will have to go through the Debian NEW queue because they are new source packages, so won't be immediately available, but they should arrive soon enough. People using Iceweasel from Debian Unstable will be upgraded to Firefox ESR."

Fuck off. Only reason I use Debian is because it's stable and supported. If you want to campaign for FOSS do something more than slapping a sticker on someone else's work.

nigga this is an improvement
And im installing debian when i get home fuck dat shizzz
Is it actually possible to unlock an iPad?
I bought it from a guy and it turned out to be stolen, asks for login which I do not have access to.
Can I make use of it somehow or did I just throw 100euro?
Nice try, Jamal.
Give it back, Hans.
>>53511642
>>53511645
As expected.
I actually bought it from a drug addict but since I tried to always steer away from Apple shit I had no idea it would turn out like this.
Thought it would be a value investment.
Why do web developers need FizzBuzz? It's bullshit high level math that nobody ever uses...
https://css-tricks.com/tales-of-a-non-unicorn-a-story-about-the-trouble-with-job-titles-and-descriptions/
>>53522178
it's not necessarily fizzbuzz, but these kind of questions are just a quick field test to see if you know what you're doing.
Learning to use a screwdriver is one thing. Knowing how to use it to build a shelf is another.
Same thing with programming - there's a difference between knowing a language and knowing how to program.
>>53522178
Because the idea is, if your developer can't do simple algorithms then how do you expect them to tackle problems with percentages, margins and utilizing screen space correctly for responsive design and localization?
But then again, the OP is bait so who cares?

So why is the news peddling Google using AI for better advertising as such a horrible thing?
When I buy stuff, I research for hours looking for the food stuff and the lowest prices. If Google's AI does that for me, I get more time for anime and vidya.
If Google's AI can figure out which animes and vidya I'd like instead of me wasting hours of my life to see if they're any good, I'll gladly stop pirating and start paying.
Why is this bad?
>>53510675
muh freedoms + privacy issues but people who are using google/chrome shouldn't complain about that
>>53510675
well next Google AI will tell you who to vote, where to work, who to marry and when to kill yourself.
advertising is expensive
you, the consumer, pay for it indirectly
it's like paying $n extra for packaging @ the store, and your quality of life decreasing because that particular chain bought out all the other stores and is now charging rape-prices

As I'm sure some of you might be aware, PS4 absolutely sucks at picking up wifi. If I have it in the living room where my router is, the internet speed's fine, but if I have it in my room it's absolutely crap.
Does anybody happen to know of some sort of device I could use that would be able to pick up a better signal through the walls and connect to my playstation?
My laptop and pad work fine in here. God knows why sony couldn't build a console that can pick up decent signal.

So, /g/ee.
I have a small army of old computers that I've accumulated over the years. Most of them are at least semi functional or could be repaired; the rest are good for parts. One chief problem is that half of them don't have network cards. I've ordered a few but I'm poor as dirt and won't be able to spend the cash to get them all up and running.
Is there a way to tie the netless computers to connected ones with Ethernet cables? Maybe outfit one as a secondary router that then connects to my main? I only know the barest thing about networking...

I have the same problem
i have 5 dual core era computers still running but i dont know what to do with them

reeee
just build a beowulf cluster
So I'd like to configure MPV for my mom on Windows. Problem is I don't know of anything like LAV that will set subtitles to come on automatically. Like the eng;eng thing. She's hard of hearing, and I don't want her to have to get up every time.
Basically, I'm wondering if there's any sort of GUI wrapper I can install for her. Being able to open files directly from the application would be a plus cause she's fucking terrible at using File Explorer.
Also, player thread.
Using an easier software wouldn't be better?
MPC works just fine IMHO.
>>53510249
This. She doesn't care about your autism player kiddo.
>>53510198
The minimal GUI mpv has includes turning on and off the subtitles.
Can someone recommend me bandwidth management software?

I cant take it anymore firefox has gone to shit. I want to get onto chromium more importantly I want to be able to sync all my bookmarks and whatever with my own freenas server sitting in my closet.
I have found some python that acts as the server and running that out of a freenas jail will be easy enough I think once I get into it.
Has anyone done this? I dont see much on google for it. I do have a few links though and a git with the python script.

Nothing left. Chromium seems to be the closest there is to freedom.
Got better?
Palemoon was shit and just died anyways. Vivaldi is just getting started and who knows if it will even make it.
>>53509866
you moron chromium is 100% open sourced, even if it's maintained by google, it's basically had the google stripped out

I just moved into a house where I share wifi with my landlord. I don't want them getting any notice of torrents or my search history. Is there a router I can buy that is easy to install or what?

If it all goes out the same modem, doesn't matter what router you get or what. Get your own Modem. Or, if you're subletting a single address from your land-lord and can't get a 2nd modem in that location, then you're up shit-creek. Best Bet is to get service from your local DSL provider (or cable provider if the existing...
