what tis the best system in the world and why is it Arch GNU/Linux?
OSX, because it's BSD with actual mainstream support.
>>54391972
I tried FreeBSD once but it was lacking drivers, I can boot up a Linux live cd from 5 years ago and have better driver support than any current version of BSD.

Great post, unfortunately complete irrelevant to the post you replied to.

Alright, I need some advice from professional tech guys.
I'm interviewing for an internship this summer (Compsci Major, no previous professional tech experience) for a company that would have me straight up sitting at a computer and being a code bitch. I ACED the first interview, and did pretty damn well on the second. Now they've sent me an assignment that I have to turn in, and their judgement of this project is the final round. (The assignment is in Scala. Fuck.)
Here's the rub. The assignment is definitely at a required skill level that...

what are you even asking? just learn scala. worst situation is you get the job and you leave because you are obviously incompetent. best situation is you get paid to learn on the job.
just fucking do it
I am sure they picked Scala is no one learns it at uni
They are testing how fast you can get competent with it

Does anyone know how the 4chan IDs are generated?
I'm trying to create a more or less anonymous website that uses IDs. At the moment I'm md5 hashing the ip, then encryting it using a password that is being generated every sunday and md5 hashing it again.
>Is this the best way to keep my users IPs safe?
>Is this the best way to prevent samefagging?
>What system is 4chan using and is it better?
pic reated, its the website. The title and images are just placeholders.

install wakaba

8ch allows for ID generating and it's libre, check it out as an example because I don't see 4chan being different.
multiple users can have the same ip

Retina display on MacBook Air when?
Never, that would cannibalize the more expensive models market. They try to keep the Airs shitty (even tweaking OS X font rendering compared to previous versions so the screens look worse) so people have to spend more.
Only when HiDPI becomes mainstream and common in Windows laptops they'll be forced to make the Air more compelling.
>>54391367
I am just getting the 12 inch macbook instead.
Air is dead
What is going to happen?
We already have iPhone 7 leaks that isn't due until September, but absolutely nothing of value about MacBook Pros.
