becauses muh gayman
ebay has elcheapo 2.5k screens that do 120hz+ but their not reliable.
>>54391370
>Latency ridden garbage filled with shitty apps
Vs
>comfy, PnP display with no lag, can OC, custom timings, freesync/g-sync
I'll take the monitor for whatever price
>>54391370
Because it's more expensive to produce smaller panels you dumbshit

>SCART
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCART
ahahahaha I wish. I'd buy one and a SNES or something and wouldn't know what year I'm in.
I'm using two 50 inch TVs mounted to my wall, it's pretty damn awesome. Gaming is fun too.

found your problem
Meanwhile all TV should have an micro PC inside by default, all problems solved.
>>54391370
What tv are you talking about?
>>54392018
amoled 4k panel 6" that goes in your phone cost 30$ at the plant
explain
fuck off OP, tv's are fucking shit
>>54391370
You did it, OP, you cracked the code. You outjood the Joos. Go buy your mega value 55 inch TV now and use it as a monitor 70 centimeters from your face while basking in your superiority, while rest of us plebs still use regular overpriced monitors.
Then report back how did you like it.

Some newer TVs run some sort of OS anyway so they already are.

Android mostly.

Have been using tv as gaming monitor for almost 2 years now, liking it pretty good.
Just upgraded to 4k.
>>54392315
all those DELL monitors /g/ is shilling so much suffer from backbleed and you have to RMA them like 3 times on average before you get one that is not a complete catastrophe in that regards.

Many reasons to go with a monitor. I have an Asus PG278Q 1440p 144hz gsync monitor. I also have what is probably one of the best 4k TVs to use as a monitor, Vizio P-Series 65" 4k. Chose it as at the time it had the lowest input delay of any 4k TV on the market.
I enjoy both, the TV ran me $1400 where as the monitor ran $700. Some pros and cons...
TV
+Huge obviously
+Supports 4k 60 hz or 1080p 120hz
+No backlight bleed
-HDMI 2.0, doesn't support 4:4:4 chroma at 4k 60hz
-Some games just do not like to start on it, no idea why.
-Bulky to move
-Input delay isn't bad but is noticed in competitive games
-Screen tearing
Monitor
+Small and portable
+Gsync, gone are the days of screen tearing
+Can flip into portrait mode
+144hz is nice.
+Zero latency, great for competitive games
+Display Port - No resolution/refresh rate or color issues due to ancient technology.
-Not as big
-Higher cost per inch of screen
-backlight and edge bleeding on some monitors
Over-all, I still prefer a monitor. gsync and 144hz are too nice to give up.
