/g/, I'm currently coding a markov chat bot to let loose on shitty imgur and I now only need some text to spice up the current dictionary of the bot. So far it got texts from random "pro life", femnazi, fat shaming and christian blogs. Ideas for more sources or other texts you think should be in it?
(already tried /b but they are apparently only interested in diapers. surprise surprise)

What does /g/ think about Project Scorpio?
>>55060897
what?
>>55061437
Microsoft announced a new version of the X1 called Project Scorpio that has 6 TFLOPS
I'm >>55061437
>>55061704
Well, I don't play games a lot but that project could be successful and they can endorse VR more because consumers don't like a lot of choice and M$ will just put a "VR ready" sticker on it. It might be interesting because if I'm not mistaken only PCs can run VR at the moment and consoles need to catch up in terms of graphics power for any serious VR gaming that can be compared to current VR.
But I don't follow...

What are some mindblowing /g/-related things that you discovered recently? It never occured to me to use the HOME and END key. They let me jump directly to the to or the bottom of a page. I have also never used "Scroll Lock" or the "Paus" key before. If someone knows what they do or what could be done with them please do tell.
You must've grown up with a smartphone or never written much with your computer. How did you not know of home and end keys is beyond me.
Does anyone use right control or alt?
>>55059404
Special letters like ą or ę in Polish are using right Alt
So what does /g/ think about moot joining Google? Why do you think they hired him? Do you think he'll have any effect on the company?
I think he'll be lost in the crowd, and he will finally discover that there is nothing special about him.
Google Plus
He was hired as a meme evangelist
Watch out for spicy memes by Google in the next months. They'll have a monopoly in no time

Let's discuss laptop batteries and battery life.
My laptop is over 9 years old now, but it still gets like 3 hours of battery life from the original battery that came with it. I get the impression that this is unusual, since most old laptops on ebay and other sites are listed as having dead batteries.
How old is your laptop, and does the original battery still work?
>>55058844
they die when you abuse them. they can last years if used properly
>>55058986
what do I have to do to keep my battery alive?
>>55059060
set charging thresholds and cycle them as little as possible
lithium likes to stay between 30-70% charged (~3.80 to 3.85V/cell)
If you are using the laptop stationary, drain the battery to 75% and remove it
Is it possible to detect a word/sentence and automatically click it in JS? (so no div, class, id, etc... detection)

>>55058387
hade one for years thougt i could be more than than a sysadmin in a middle sized company...
After 8+ years I finally received a copyright notification from my ISP. Recommend me a VPN, hopefully one that's free and that doesn't cap speeds
Not OP, but stupid question:
How exactly does a VPN protect your privacy if websites can still fingerprint your shit?
Sure your IP is anonymized, everything in-transit is secure if you're using SSL, and maybe you're even blocking tracking shit using extensions; but you're still giving away your unique browser fingerprint, aren't you? Couldn't that still be tracked and pinpointed to you?
>>55058336
NordVPN
>>55058432
Sure, the websites you visit could come up with some way to still track you unless you went the extra mile with special browsers. In this case however, the only goal of the VPN is to prevent the ISP from being privy of browsing activity; the websites would have to be in direct cahoots with your ISP for them to figure anything out.
