I disagree. Sony's tech is superior. Samsung now have improved and are more affordable, Sony are still a better brand.
Sony are expensive but you know their products are good, especially audio related.

Currently I have a GS4, and got into android for the customization and muh specs, but never did root or anything warranty-voiding. I'm not going to root / unlock my next phone, so don't suggest that. Just give me your "humble" opinions on what to get.

Get the iphone only if you can't stand android, or you have already invested a lot in the app store.
I personally would choose the note5, the stylus is really good for mobile gaming.

Nexus 6p. I am running the HTC One M8 GPe, and I can tell you first hand that AOSP Android is better than anything else I have used. Everything else about that phone is top notch too

My name's Geoff, and I'm an old guy. My kid introduced me to this website to learn about technology because I want to build my own computer. I don't know the first thing about this stuff, and having explored some of the threads, I feel like I've been jettisoned into advanced calculus or physics!
Would you folks have any suggestions as to where I can start learning about the things you guys talk about? Namely how computers work and things of that nature? I hope that someday I can catch up with you guys and join in on these...

yeah. I have done a complete install. wifi, graphcis, sound, KDE (I just picked KDE because why not), and everything else that is necessary. it was a lot of fun, only took two days first full install. if I do that a few more times, I can get gentoo installed in a matter of hours.

Is there any way to make Chrome's URL autocompletion not retarded? I'll type a few letters and it will want to autocomplete to some site I visited once 3 years ago instead of the site I visit once a minute.
