Object oriented programming was a mistake
>>51740600
so were you, but you don't see anybody complaining now do you?
I agree.
Except OOP is objectively the logical conclusion to programming.
What went wrong?

Have you tried to use Windows 10?
Now imagine the average PC user, who will be afraid if the Internet icon looks different or that Solitaire isn't the same any more.

Uh, no.
It's all the telemetry shit.
A thread for those of us who still have questions about this new OS. I personally have not installed it yet due to a friend of mine who said it wasn't really ready to be used publicly. That was back in July if i remember correctly. But now that the hype has died down what does /g/ think about this system? I have windows 8 and I kind of want to upgrade to windows 10.
>>51740296
>and I kind of want to upgrade to windows 10.
Why?
>>51740362
curiosity. And i have heard that its basically a revamp of windows 7 which i loved.
Stop making these fucking threads every day. We know you already upgraded and are just shilling.

This actually. Catering at the company I work for is practically nonexistent, so I wouldn't mind if some cute girls would do a bit of cooking.

Discuss BSD, ask questions, get answers, be nice to Linux users.
I like these operating systems, but there's honestly not much to discuss about them.
>>51740202
Sure there is, *BSD is actual UNIX while Linux is pretending to be UNIX. Free/Open/Dragonfly/Net/whatever are all solid operating systems. Personally, I prefer OpenBSD the most.
>>51740236
Oh sure, those things you can say, but they kind of go without saying.
I could discuss how I like OpenBSD for its ease of configuration and use, but this is pointless considering you can just read the FAQ and man pages for a bit.
>vulkan will kill directx anytime soon....
One can only hope
Why would anybody with real talent continue utilizing a cancerous api? I can only imagine code monkeys doing something so retarded. You're basically ensuring the future is shit. Any visionary would steer clear of ms anything and no this is not a nod to apple by any means.

How soon? The year of the linux desktop soon?
What should I upgrade next?
my system:
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.40GHz
8 GB RAM
ASRock B75 Pro3-M
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2047MB
931 GB Hitachi ATA Device (SATA)
SSD then new graphics card
>>51739674
Go up to 12gb of RAM
GPU. SSDs are a waste of money, and that GPU is so shit that you should upgrade that before the RAM. Pretty much no one needs more than 8gb RAM unless you're doing something specialised.
I got it around 2003 or something.
That was my first Graphics card as well.
>>51739510
Stick it up your ass
Had that card as well. Played a lot of CS and WC3 on it.
Building a budget gayming PC for my friend. He'll mostly be playing shit like LoL and CSGO on it, but also a few more demanding games like Black Ops 3. How does this look?

I don't have an amp nor a good dac. Is it worth investing into one before buying headphones? I only have a pair of 7506s so
>>51739448
no
a dac is only useful if you have some audible problem, like background noise
an amp is only useful if your phones dont get loud enough. im sure your 7506s are fine from onboard, assuming that is your use application
Sony MA900 Master Race.
HD600 fags no need to apply.

Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are three ways to try GNU plus Linux, you can:
1) Install a GNU plus Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU plus Linux experience".
3) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with GNU plus Linux (very recommended, for your freedom)
If you are serious about switching to GNU plus Linux and if you have Windows...
