I now have a wireless keyboard mouse and headset and couldn't be happier. Why do people still insist on using outdated wires that will eventually break in 2 years time?

What do you prefer: Functional, Procedural, or Object-Oriented?
Which type of Object-Orientation (Simula-67-derived School or Smalltalk School) do you prefer? Which type of Functional (Pure or Impure) do you prefer?
What are you working on, /g/?
will it ever be possible to display moving images without having to project them frame by frame
Simula was clearly superior.

Daily reminder that apple products have a closed design?
Nadella, Pichai, Suri and Narayen aren’t exactly household names. But the companies they run are: Microsoft Corp. , Google Inc., Nokia Corp. and Adobe Systems Inc.
On Monday, Google announced a restructuring plan that elevated 43-year-old Sundar Pichai to chief executive. It is a reminder that the CEOs of some of the world’s most recognizable tech companies share origins from India.
That they all ascended to the corner office might not be a coincidence. A recent cross-cultural study from Southern New Hampshire University examined managers from the U.S. and...

what do you do with your case stickers /g/?
I eat them when I'm hungry.
>>51831976
Oh shit... you aren't supposed to stick them on the top of the CPU?
>>51832013
ONTOP of the cpu? are you insane? Those stickers are specially made to keep the dust out from UNDER THEM. You are supposed to prick the pins through them so that the dust wont collect inside the cpu. How did you not know this?
Hey /g/, what would you say is a good solution for a low power home server?
Uses:

You think a single board computer like the Raspberry Pi is enough or will I regret it?

Is there any reason why any mounting software I use doesn't show my usb? I've tried rufus as well, there is nothing.
I'm trying to make the usb bootable so I can reinstall windows 7 since I somehow killed it when I was setting up dual boot. Debian by the way.

What do you guys think about the new Chromebook Pixel? I was considering buying the new Pixel and an SD card, so I can run Linux etc.
I can buy the new one for about $800 after tax. Also considering buying an iPad Pro for $700 as well. Yes, I know it seems like shit but I want to read books etc. I need it for biology, and I can buy it for a lot cheaper than other people pay for it.
Ridiculously expensive, considering the storage space, the OS, and the fact that it is ad supported.
>>51831655
Ad supported?
Low storage capacity; but I get 1TB of Google storage and I can just use the card reader? I can't find another laptop in this price range with a great screen, and a great build quality. Any suggestions?

why does windows still use ntfs? can't they use a better file system?
No, they don't know how. Pointing that out is bigotry

why does applel still use hfs+? can't they use a better file system?
Linux fags are still happy with ext.
I'm a programmer working sixty hours a week, and I'm considering taking a vacation where I use absolutely no technology at all. I'm sick of sitting behind a computer screen for most of the week. Do you think a bit of time off will help me out?
>>51831213
post more pls
>>51831197
This isn't just working with technology, it's any job.
If the same old routine is getting you down then you need to take a vacation. If that doesn't help, then you need to talk with your employer about the prospects of a raise or a promotion. If that fails, you need to see if you can find another job with increased responsibility. You're human, you want to feel that you're making progress.
