Mr. Robot is a show genetically engineered to appeal to imdbspawn /v/edditors with no sense of sophistication who laud meme dialog, which supports upvote groupthink mentality and meme acting with a good movie pandering reddit tier post-capeshit "entertainment" sensibilities and a meme aesthetic. This is a comedy at best and is rightfully deemed as pleb trash every time it gets brought up on /tv/

What's with the shilling today? Are they going to announce a second season or something?
Can someone tell me why the fuck Ruby has no majority agreed upon IDE/text editor. Why the fuck do I have to break my back installing a bunch of random fucking shit just to be able to learn this retarded language?
>>52131509
because nobody uses ruby
why would you use ruby when python exists?
JetBrains has RubyMine, I can't see your point.
If this topic was on Lua (or some other lang that's great, but has small support) I would understand.

Hey /g/ how do I get into networking? Are there any books/websites/tutorials you can recommend to get me started? I'm talking about the real nitty gritty, building network systems from scratch and the like.

I pay $30 a month for unlimited data, kiddo. What would I pay with Verizon for unlimited data?
I'm in Europe you dumb bitch

Enjoy your throttled data, only Verizon provides the fastest 4G XLTE speeds.
GTX 950 or R9 380? Why?

If you're set on getting the 950 then get the 950 'FTW' version from EVGA. It performs a little better than the 950, and is supposed to be a middle ground between the 950 and the 960
>>52131141
960 is a tiny bit more powerful than the 380, and has extra nvidia features in some games like in batman arkham knight: interactive smoke and interactive particles on the ground like scattered dollar bills.
/g/entlemen,
Considering some games are starting to come through that either recommend 16GB system memory or are CPU-bound and might benefit from faster frequencies, should I replace my two sticks of 4GB 1600Mhz Corsair Vengeance DDR3 with 2x 8GB 2400Mhz or just buy two more of what I've got?
Any issues with very high frequency memory on my platform?
Any issues with 4x 4GB on my platform?
Can I just plug them in and the extra capacity will be there automatically?
CPU: i5 3450
Mobo: Gigabyte, can't remember or be bothered to find...

Just stick with 1600, there's near-nonexistent benefits with insane frequencies, timings and size will be more of a benefit

Thanks for the article, although it is over a year old. Fallout 4 has been touted as a game that mighty actually benefit from higher frequency RAM due to being so CPU-bound. I have to think this could come up again in the not-too-distant.
I'm looking for a nice linux distro for my laptop with an inside processor. I was looking for something lightweight, but with a modern gui.

Ah cool, I'll probably use this. Do you know if I can install chrome on arch distros easily from the top of your head? I'm moving from mint.

How old is too old to start learning programming with no prior knowledge?
I'm one of those people who fixes their normie friends' shit for them, understand how a command line works and all that but I know fuck all about formal comp sci/programming shit, not even on a basic level.
I'm 27, I have a worthless lib arts degree and I want a real fucking job. Is it too late for me, /g/?

>I'm 27, I have a worthless lib arts degree and I want a real fucking job. Is it too late for me, /g/?
First off, holy shit taht webm.
Second, I did lib arts when I was young too. I started engineering at 28 and a few years later got my BSEE at 32. Two years later I'm paid a little over 100K/year, base.
So no, it's not too late.
>>52131154
I'm 26, have been programming half my life (precisely) and make $0 (---zero---) per year.
So I'd say it highly depends, you'll most certainly have to know people to get your foot through the door.
>>52131085
Yeah, if you can get a hang of programming, it doesn't really matter what age you are.
How would you fix python, /g/?
>>52131035
Either:
- Harden the semantics so that it is a fast compiling, statically typed, semifunctional language with tail recursions.
- Fix the semantics and the interpreter so that it starts fast and can be embedded in a sane way.
Of course, that's only the technical side, I'm not so sure about how to fix the community.
Make it statically typed and ditch the stupid OOP system
>>52131189
I think the community is okay. What wiping with the community?
Since Windows 10 is botnet garbage, which is better: 8.1 or 7?
8.1
I definitely prefer 7.
sooner or later you go update to 10 anyway
Why do you bother with any other browser /g/?
Well, Edge not being recognized as Internet Explorer by every website really made it difficult to give it a chance. So I went back to Chrome.
Because I use internet explorer, no edge on windows 7.
I won't as soon as it get extensions.
So get along with it rahjeev.
I bought an iPhone just so people won't think I'm some kind of social outcast.

Windows 7 or 8.1

I'd say windows 7 or 10. As much as I hate to admit it, Linux gaming isn't as far as it should be. Windows would be the way to go for gaming.
Plus, you'll be able to get the neccessary software to do that "light programming".
