Hey /g/ how do I get into networking? Are there any books/websites/tutorials you can recommend to get me started? I'm talking about the real nitty gritty, building network systems from scratch and the like.

Thanks I'll check it out. How much C or C++ will I need to know? I'm already proficient in Java and C#.
So I am a CCNP (Cisco certified network professional)
I started networking stuff when I was a junior in highschool about 5ish years ago. You start with the Net+ certification. That is the first step to go in an direction with Networking. You can just purchase the Net+ textbook off of amazon or eBay, study, and take the certification test when you feel ready. Then slowly progress up the ladder just as I did.
Hope this is helpful
