What laptop is /g/ using?
Are you happy with the performance and battery life?
Acer Chromebook 11
Its nice, 9-10 hour battery life, and it works for what i need it to do.
God-tier processor for a chromebook under 150$.
>>52152316
X550JX
I'm pretty happy with it
For the hardware, the battery is decent
Sammy Series 9 2nd gen, I lobe this baby. 3+ years old and still working flawlessly. Excellent performance, only about 3-4 hours of battery (ultrabooks man...), but doesn't bother me
Fastest and smoothest browser coming through
wouldn't want things like FREEDOM and PRIVACY slowing you down would you goy?

I'm having an issue where I turn on the computer, and the fans spin and lights come on but there's no video input.
Any suggestions?

Would there be any reason to get a devil 13 dual gpu 390x2 over a 980TI?
Buddy says its future proofing since dx12 might be able to utilize all the vram (though 8gb seems a lot and 16 seems overkill), but the card seems to big, and all that powerdrawv and ridiculous heat
Anyone heard good stuff about these or is it just a look what I have sort of thing
>he wants a Devil13
THE ABSOLUTE MADMAN
Single most powerful card on the market right now and better at dx12 than anything from Nvidia.
>>52151347
I dunno if you're having a laugh or not, I know someone with a 290x and he had to mod a case because of the fucking heat dump
Alright /g/, I need your words of knowledge. I'm setting up my freeNAS server with ownCloud. It's running, but when I try to access it from my other pc on the same network it just times out. Any idea why it does that?
>pic unrelated
Plz help

I'm not hoping for a miracle and I'll make this as short as I can.
Been using this studio 1555 my brother had laying around for about five months. It was fine until a month ago when it would start freezing doing some specific tasks, couldn't even use firefox, occasionally blue screen'd so I reinstalled Windows 7 (home premium 64 bit) and it was okay for a few weeks then it started doing it again but I could only boot up for about five minutes before it would freeze so reinstalled it again and now it's been about a week. Now it won't even...

Came here because couldn't find this specific problem on Google
Anyone think I could even attempt installing a different OS?

What's your excuse for not having 8 cores?
ahmdahls law
I don't do heavy encoding projects on my computer.
stuck with n i5 4440, better than my old FX8350 though, planning to buy a 4790K next year.
hey, so im getting my A+ networking+ and security+ comTIA certs in a month.
anyone have any experience with them?
what are your /g/uy's opinion of compTIA certs?
any other certs i should grab?
>>52151109
>all of those certs in a month
OP I doubt you are a super genius. It would probably take you a 2-3 months for each N+ and S+ certs. A+ is a joke but if you dont have firsthand experience it's difficult i guess.
>certs
cisco or an hero
m$ is sheeit
Use braindumps. Obviously learn the material first, but use braindumps so you don't waste your money failing the cert.

I have eighteen months left in my CS degree and it seems like forever. I still have all of 2016 to study through. I am going to graduate with no debt. What do I have to look forward to /g/?
>>52151079
Good for you of you pull that off, but don't count your chickens yet. Her some internships, or contribute some meaningful improvement in an porn source project, becuse without anything to show for it, you wont get the orders you're expecting.
>>52151079
>one semester left and no internships or major projects
JUST
>>52151121
I can't apply to local internships until January. I don't have the skills for an open source project yet.
