Who DNSSEC here?
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4033
http://www.dnssec.net/
Why do you use it? What do you use it for? Have you considered TLSA (DANE), SSHFP, OPENPGPKEY RRs yet? Discuss.
>>53681401
DANE?
>>53682078
Yes, mate.
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6698
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNS-based_Authentication_of_Named_Entities
DANE is a means to authenticate an entity (such as a web server) is really who the entity says he is, and not just who he says he is on paper (PKIX). The entitiy's presented X.509 certificate must match the TLSA RR found in the authoritative domain, which should be looked up securely using DNSSEC. Further PKIX path validation is optional, depending on your TLSA RR parameters.

i finally have money to spend on upgrading my headphones. i currently have
FiiO E11k and Sennheisers 518.
I really liked them when I got them but I realized these have practically no bass, the FiiO kinda has a bass boost which made it bearable.
>Budget
I'm not rich... but as long as it's a reasonable amount for a set of headphones I'm willing to pay it. What I mean by that...

I'm in the weird situation where I have an o2 amp but i'm in need of a dac, does anyone have any suggestions of a good usb standalone dac that I can combine with my amp that is cheaper than the jds labs one?. Under £100 would be ideal.

haskell general
itt: post anything related to haskell
everyone from all levels welcome
ill start
why do people say haskell lazzyness is a failure
whats does ocammel do different than haskell
if your language can't do linear fib in one line, then its probably garbagefibs = 0 : 1 : zipWith (+) fibs (tail fibs)
>why do people say haskell lazzyness is a failure
It's a bad default. Hard to think about performance, prone to space leaks.
>>53681212
>zipWith
with a library function? of courseint f = fibonacci(n);
Good evening /g/entlemen.

wtf
we know there's always going to be a place for desktop PCs (building, upgrading parts, more performance etc.), but is there really a place left for Apple desktops when their portables are so good?
>>53680309
Their desktops are competitively priced compared to other offerings from Dell, Lenovo, HP, etc. They are not part of the gaymurr market.
>>53680309
There was never a place for Apple desktops to begin with.
>>53680538
all in one that just werks and comes with a professional grade IPS panel?
While I don't like it nor would I buy one, I could see a market for that
Who's the king of android right now, the 6P or the S7?
Does /g/ favor hardware or openness?
>>53680187
Wait a couple months for the LG G5.
It has a removable battery and expandable memory that the 6P and S7 lack
>>53680429
s7 has expandable battery and great battery life with a sleek design. G5 is already doomed with it's meme modules.
6P on the other hand is still an amazing device

How come anyone can defend this piece of shit ?.
It even lags on octacore phones, i have never, EVER found an android user who doesnt complaint about his shit lagging , fucking hell,I still remember the first time i saw an android user anwsering a call, the phone lagged like hell and then and the call screen appeared like 5 seconds later, wich apparently its a feature.
Too bad you just found one user.
My Nexus 5 is as fast now than it was at launch.
Having slow internal storage combined with making apps in java. Crating user facing apps that depend on garbage collection is why android will never stop lagging. When the garbage collection kicks in, the code literally freezes.

Autistic people often need to fiddle with things constantly OP.
Why is American infrastructure worse than in literal third world countries?
What's wrong with chip and pin?
Because normies don't care. If you want something to change, rally the working class. That's what Trump does and it's working.
Because we have shitloads of legacy infrastructure from over a century of development, while they've been able to get a fresh start because they had fucking nothing until 20 years ago. And most of them have garbage infrastructure outside of their capital cities, anyway.
Hi /G/ents,
what do you think is the best cooling solution for 24/7 100% usage AMD FX 8320, either heatsink or a Hydro cooler thing?
Post a pic of your opinion. Gotta be quiet!
why did they make krinkle cut fans
>>53681103
they slice the air which is better for cooling performance
>>53681179
>they slice the air
You don't know how air pressure works, no?
Is this a good power supply? Is there anything better in this price range? ($150CAD/$120USD)
>>53679981
Assuming that's the G1 version, it's absolute shit. Overpriced group regulated garbage. Sure it has nice all black cables, modularity, and gold efficiency, but it's voltage regulation is crap.
Get a G2 or GS unit only. G1s are crap.
>>53680076
Yeah, it's a G1... but the only G2 available is 1600W and it's over $400. I can't really afford to spend more than $150CAD ($120USD). Do you have another suggestion for a better PSU? If I'm going to get a shitty, cheap PSU, should I just opt for the 750B then? Does another brand offer a better PSU at the $120USD price range?
>>53680631
Assuming you aren't being an idiot and running a dual GPU setup, this will do just fine:
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20650y1
I mean, don't run an FX-9590 with an R9 390X both overclocked to the max, but other than that it's hard to think of a single-gpu system that would use more than about 550W even including high overclocks.
Holy shit installing arch is so easy. Why is everyoen saying it's hard and breaks etc, etc?
Memes

They like to think they're special snowflakes for copypasta from a wiki page.
Most consumer linux installation and maintenance are the equivalent of basic car owner upkeep. Take changing the oil on a car, it's an extremely simple task that if you've done it once you'd wonder how anyone could possible have trouble with, even if on certain cars it might be just a bit of an annoying time investment. However, if someone's never attempted it once, are adamant that they're not a "car person", and bury their head in the sand the second someone pulls out a basic owner's manual, they will very easily convince themselves...

are you going to buy an Apple Watch now that they upgraded the hardware (new bands) and lowered the price like everyone was asking for, /g/?
What is the point. Everyone has a cell phone nowadays.
>>53679847
and nobody likes taking it out of their pocket to do shit
Does it work without having the phone close to it? The 5 feet limit on the old one was so fucking stupid I had to return it.
Academia general?
What did you do your bachelor's/master's thesis/disertation on? How long did it took you? My bachelor's thesis is due in 4 weeks and I haven't even started.
>>53679625
Where are you going that you need to do a dissertation to get a Bachelor's Degree?
When I was doing my bachelor's (a little over 10 years ago, at UCLA), we didn't need to do a dissertation (well, unless you count long papers for various classes, but I don't really think those fit into the generally accepted definition of 'academic dissertation.'
>>53679824
Pretty sure that you have to do a thesis to get your bachelor's degree in most Euro schools.
please respond
What does /g/ think of project fi?
I've been thinking of picking up a nexus 5x with a project fi plan and I want to know if this is a good idea and if there's any problems with it.
It's trash, I tried it for a couple of months and the bill was always like ~$100 each month and I was always afraid of using data at all. Sold my nexus 5x and got an S5 for boost mobile. Now I only pay 55 bucks a month for unlimited lte.
I'm gonna be honest the 3G is fucking shit and lte isn't the fastest (hovers around 4mbps) but I regularly use 60+ gb of data each month so i don't really mind the slow-ish lte.
>>53679512
Nexus is ugly as fuck. I'm waiting until someone not shitty gets the bid.
It all depends on how much data you use. Aren't they piggybacking off of sprint and att? Or is it Verizon? And using WiFi over both if available. I don't really see how the service could be bad in that regard. But they might touch your butthole with the data prices.
Either way it's worth it to not give cell companies in the states any money. Google already has everything of mine anyway, I'm even raising its kid ;_;
>>53679649
I dont think the data cap would be a problem for me, being that I'm around a wifi connection pretty often.
Also wouldnt the connection be based on how good your t-mobile/sprint connection is where you live?
And when you sold your nexus 5x, did you get the discount for buying it with the plan, and did you have to pay when you cancelled?
