Maximum coincidence levels was reached.
ITT: post pictures and talk about computer and case fan wiring.
I bought 2 Rosewill RFA-120-K Fans. They came with these wire assemblies (pic related) that seem to be missing some wires. The fans run when tested on their own but do not work when I use these extension cables to plug them into the three pin connector on my motherboard.
Is this supposed to be just a straight up PSU Molex to 3-pin fan adapter?
If so then what's the other 3-pin port for?
I or am I supposed to connect both the PSU and the Mobo to the fan though this cable?

I bought two of those to replace two of these.
Who is using an android tv box? Apparently its legal as streaming rather than downloading is ok.
Is Cloud TV a good app? I only started using is and the free premium trial has ended, anyway to hack it?
Using Mxq Pro 4k box.
Its not legal to stream copyrighted content. Streaming is the same thing as downloading. Except with streaming, its not saving the video permanently. Canada says streaming is legal, but they go after android TV box sellers.
That said, I don't give a shit.
My recommended apps:
Mobdro
Movie HD (modded version by this guy named reis from reddit's /r/showbox)
Terrarium TV
Videomix
Toonmania
streaming is like the movie piracy scene a decade and a half ago: fragmented and just ... you know how cliquey places get when there's not a lot of stuff going round but everyone wants a piece? drama, flouncing, having to deal with the kind of genuine autists that have the patience to get what they want? that kind of thing
just download the shit you want, keep it all on an external and use a chromecast or something to get to it on your TV.
Do you think Steam or Debian will be able to make Linux desktop mainstream? What is the arguments for your opinion?
2016 The year of Linux Desktop!
Nope, people want to play call of dooty and run windows software without having to jump through 1 million hoops.
Linux is and has always been dead as a desktop OS. It's only real purpose has been for ricing for showing off in desktop threads, that's really it.

ITT Things that make white people cum
I've been wanting to get a 1440p, 144hz monitor with an IPS panel and g-sync to go with my new rig. I was basically trying to decide between this monitor and the Asus ROG swift PG279Q monitor, but after hearing about Asus QC issues in reviews I decided I should probably buy the Acer.
This question is directed mainly to owners of / people who have used this monitor:
How bad is your backlight bleed (if you have any), and how much does it affect your actual user experience; This is basically my primary concern, I've heard that IPS panels do look much better...

So do you have any other suggestions?

Do some math.
1000/144 = 6.9(4)ms
So a screen refresh every roughly 7ms. If it doesn't deviate much from the announced values, you should be fine. What you need to know if it's actual 4ms, or if that's just marketing bull.
For instance, I run 2 screens rated at 8ms, but actual refresh times range between 5-12ms, more than enough for a 60hz screen. Also one time I saw a "1ms" gaming monitor, but certain pixel transitions took almost 20ms.
Alright, I'm retarded. I'm sort of asking for tech support, but I'm really not.
I have a phone. First smart phone. Samsung Galaxy S6, whatever, I don't care if it's good or not, I don't care about phones and it was the big thing at the time. It's functioned for me just fine except for about two months ago and now.
I'm trying to use phone. Only has 64 Gigs of internal storage, which, as you all know, means closer to like 50. Can't have an SD card. Have a bunch of pictures or whatever. It starts bitching at me that STORAGE...

>>55494669
lmao this
>>55494669
Oh, no, it was like 5 gigs of photos at like 5 mb a pop after multiple trips to cities or other countries, that's why I'm befuddled as to where the rest of the goddamn 45 gigs or whatever went.
And I don't but I might as well, considering I'm clearly a huge bitch who's on my period.
What keyboard do you use for your Android?
I recently got my first Android after years of using an iPhone and love it. My only issue is that after years of the iOS keyboard I'm having a terrible time adjusting to anything different.
What are the best keyboards for Android, as far as layout, simplicity, autocorrect and overall quality?
I'm going crazy not having the iOS keyboard, they only thing at all I miss about an iPhone.

Japanese are the only ones that really fit that old stereotype. And they all got old and quit fucking and having babies. Too many old people there for much innovation. Not to mention the shitty lifetime employment system.
Is running a Tor relay literally the best way to protect yourself on Tor?

I can tell you for a fact
if they come to your door then they will take your pc
they boots on the ground are not going to deal with "lol relay tho"
Its a question of how well you conceal yourself on the system and how much money they spend on trying to get in
inb4 huurrr encryption
there are many other ways of gathering enough information to infer your actions
Especially if your traffic is compramised
Hi /g/, I'm planning to update and improve my toaster for something good, cheap and useful so, I need your advice to avoid scams.
Ok
My current PC specs are:
GA-B85M-DS3H
i3 4150
4gb RAM
1tb HDD
No Graphic card
and a shitty mid tower(400w)
It cost me around: $300usd. 5 years ago
I'm planning to get:
i5 4440
GTX 750ti
12gigs RAM more
New and nice mid tower
Cooler Master Elite V2 550w
This will cost me around another $300usd more
The questions are:
Is it worth?
Am i stupid?
Should i try AMD?
Also,...

I am a Linux user for a couple of years. Even though I am not happy with it 100% but I am not planning on switching back to Windows because of various reasons. But this post is not about that.
It is about Linux fanboytwats that exist in surprising abundance. 'Oh, Mint is for noobs, try Arch instead', 'Oh you are med student and don't have time to solve problems? No, you are just stupid', 'I feel like people using Linux are much smarter than Mac and Windows users', 'I do 90% of my tasks through command line, hat guis'.

how often does /g/ upgrade their computer?
how much do they normally spend per upgrade?
every three or so years
$0-$200

so when exactly do you replace your computer then?
you only spend $600 on computers in 9 years?

Is Dell even relevant anymore? I'm planning to get a new glossy monitor for the living room, but I'm unsure if Dell is going to cuck me with their products.
/g/ is not your personal tech review site

There's that word again.

I'd rather hear an opinion in /g/ than a shekel paid article from some shitty tech site.
GPU just came in the mail today
Happy to do honest benchmarks for anyone who's looking to buy
While I do think this card is absolutely INCREDIBLE, I've seen alot of reviews where framerates in games are stupidly high (eg GTA V - Max settings - 160fps+ at 1080p) which just isn't true when fully maxed out
I understand that affects like MSAA etc take a massive toll on framerate, but I'll be happy to set games to their absolute max and report back on FPS, to those who are curious, or custom settings again, for those who are interested.
