Im installing my first linux machine soon and I planned on using this OS but I heard the head dev died and sjws took over or something. Should I use fedora instead?
Here's a cool wp for your help
Dude install gentoo like all the other hackers on here

Top kek, save yourself some time and install gentoo
>>53732006
Yea, you can get really mad for not understanding gentoo as a first time linux user, or u can go for ubuntu, mint, and almost anything else, but not gentoo. Give gentoo a go after u get used to linux. Or be me, get linux on a server and keep win10 on ur personal laptop (ubuntu in VM too tho)

It's better this way. Since /pol/ started derailing and shitting everyone's threads up, it's better to have a topic.

You won't be able to stream Netflix in HD on it because of Netflix restricting that shit to only Chromecasts and HD TVs.
I'm watching Filmon tv right now on mine.
And iOS and Android apps now work on Windows Mobile.
Announcement coming in 48 hours

MS rather obviously does not have resources nor talent to achieve that. You're only setting yourself up for a disappointment.
Now Windows can finally get GIMP.

What ultrabooks run linux well? Specifically Arch.
Yes, we're all aware that thinkpads are the best, but I really would love a light laptop with crazy battery life.

Don't you have to jump through a whole bunch of hoops to get linux working on macbooks? And even after you manage to do it the battery life is shit because they pull a bunch of tricks in osx to extend battery.
A regular ultrabook seems like a more sane solution to me.
They told me that Foobar is the botnet, but i didn't believed them.
Now i believe.

Why the actual fuck does it need to be using HTTP(S)? It's literally as bad as skype.
Doesn't do it for me. I assume you have it set to retrieve metadata for your music files by default.

How do I learn git?
I've done a few online tutorials and I know the commands like int/commit/push/pull and shit like that, but I still don't get what the fuck git is and how to use it.
I guess I'm looking for something that will spell out for me what git is and why I should want to git without just telling me to type commands for cryptic reasons.
>>53731350
Git is a version control system, which means that you can track changes to files, which is for the purpose of being able to go back to a working version when you break something.
It also provides a way in which to accept and make contributions with other people. Really any system could do this, but git (and other VCS) provides a standard way of doing it, so that you don't have to mess around with setting up an FTP server to get files or whatever else.
>>53731380
I don't get it.
Git keeps a local copy and a remote copy of your project. It can keep different copies of your project called branches. These are different versions of your project to work on, like development versions and release versions. Other people can also make copies of your project to work on called forks. Because git keeps track of changes, you can merge branches entirely or just specific changes. Git can also remember which commit made every line of your project, among many other things.
When you make changes that you want to add to a remote (the web version), it's called...

Hey!
I bought my Sony Xperia Z3+ phone used from internet, but it shows this "PROTECTED" sign when I turn it on. It can be removed by typing the phone user's original Google account details, but the problem is that I dont know them.
Is there any solution to break this protection and reset the phone without Google account?
>>53731328
Can't you boot to recovery mode, and make a wipe data ?
Ur fucked desu
>>53731328
So, you bought a stolen phone. That sucks. Complain to the site you bought from. There's nothing else you can realistically do.

Skylake-U mobile processors are all 2 cores 4 threads whether it's i3, i5 or i7. The difference is the maximum clock speed and is not significant. Google Passmark scores to decide for yourself.
Hello /g/, I'll make it quick.
I wish to be a developer, and most importantly, an entrepreneur. My language of choice (after having tried a few others) is Ruby, and my platform, Ruby on Rails.
Now, in all honesty, I started recently and have been learning with things like RubyMonk and a few online videos (got no money because I'm broke and can't pay for the good stuff to learn), downloaded a Linux distro after a lifetimes of WIndows and started with the frustrating path of learning.
Now, my dear people, as many of you would know, the key...
