what happens if I get a software patent over a product solution I am planning to develop for mobile?
How do I enforce google and apple to take down all clones?
freetards don't need to reply with their comunist garbage that make programmers to starve on the street.

>software patent
You could consider suicide.
We're all just going to pirate it, anyway.
>>54217474
Isn't software copyrighted, not patented?

Hi /g/,
I'm looking for a very light, powerfull ultrabook to buy:
- i7 processor
- 8 GBs ram (or more)
- 13 to 14 inch screen
- Budget up to $2,500
- Lightweight
- Not manufactured by Apple (Nothing against them, just personal preference)
What do you suggest?
>ultrabook
>what if we make it thinner
>for what purpose?
>it looks cooler, and that means we can can charge more money
>but everyone can easily carry a normal sized laptop, why not use a smaller system board to make room for more battery and ports
>this is a business, bob, we make money, not good computers. just call it "ultra" and tell morons that it's modern and better.
>>54217214
OP here, I travel out of the country every week. Trust me, a normal sized laptop is a huge pain to carry if you're moving with it everywhere.
So, call it ultrabook or lightweight laptop, I don't really mind :)

I'll possibly also run Ubuntu when Vulkan allows me to run Mass Effect Andromeda on it.
I'm going to install it when I get my 2nd 4K monitor to see what kind of scaling I should expect.
Bitcoins
All i know about them is the propaganda that both sides offer them, what is /g/s opinion of this digital currency?
it has no practical uses
the only people who use it are shady criminals who want to buy cp, drugs, or any other illegal service/good
I certainly would not use a currency that is known to be used in transactions where pedos buy drugs to spike the drinks of children and rape them
I suggest you don't associate with it
its for literal neckbeards

So, this Christmas my father gave me his Galaxy S5 Active since he decided to switch from AT&T to Sprint. Only just now was able to get a card for it, and it only worked for an hour. Called AT&T customer service, and it turns out he registered it as stolen (I'm assuming to get out of returning or having to pay for the phone).
Needless to say, I'm not out the $55 I paid for the simcard and plan, and have a fucking brick that only works over wifi. Is there any way to get around this? Rooting perhaps? Help. I can't afford a new phone.

Your father is the one you should be saying "fuck you" to in this scenario.
>>54215075
Give it back Jamal.

Fair enough. Yeah, fuck him. Contacted him about it, kinda just said "oh well"
Thanks for nothing, fucker
What is point of Python, Ruby, AND Perl existing?
isn't it kind of redundant? How do they really differ from eachother in noticeable ways beyond syntax and minor differences?
Well?
well?
It's called a free country, kid. There's no thought police telling you that you're not allowed to create a programming language.
AMD kicked out of their headquarters by a company looking to build apartments.
How much fight do they have left in them?
>>54214635
A long while. Intel will literally give them money to keep them afloat, otherwise it will become a monopoly. AMD isn't going to die because Intel won't let them. They're just doing CPR on their bloated corpse screaming they're still competitive.
>apartments
disgusting

By the looks of it, Irvine doesn't have any laws in place regarding requirements to build sufficient parking for residents and visitors.
So it sounds like that prime real estate is going to be a shitty hovel where people can't find parking, like every fuckin'-where else in the Los Angeles county

On average I use 107GB a month.
This includes
>Streams all in HD over a VPN
>Torrents also over a VPN
>On the internet at least 8 hours a day
Seriously how the fuck do you guys use terabytes a month?
>multiple people in a household
>us my PC as a plex server all the time
>netflix between 3 people
>>54214384
is a vpn really necessary? I've been torrenting for ages and have the usual 4chan porn preferences and never had any problems, aside from e-mails from my ISP.
Dunno, it just kind of happens.

Hey /g/, so I am been looking around for a new router to replace my e4200 v1. We've had it for a while, and I think at this point it is starting to fail. I've used some third party software to keep it lively and managed to breath new life into it, but the increase in internet speed along with the laptops, media devices, and computers is starting to strain it badly.
I've been searching around on google and so far I haven't found anything that quite tops Netgear R6220-100NAS 1200AC. It seems to fit nicely with what I need (decent wifi range, newer wifi...
