Hi guys. I'm working on a stage setup for a band and one of the things they want is for all of their computers to be off stage but still be controlled by USB devices.
I'm looking at the USB over ethernet devices.
Has anyone used them? Are they solid?
How would they cope with with the usb switch changing the connected computer?
Would the USB monitors work?
Any chances of dropped/delayed information from devices?
Any alternatives?
Cheers for any help
Also I know about active USB cables but I'm skeptical about their quality and ability to replace a broken one while on the road.
>>54355572
The real question is what are they controlling it with?
>>54357406
One direction
USB controller > Ableton
USB Keyboard > Logic
Other direction
Ableton > USB monitor
Ableton > MIDI adaptor
Logic > USB monitor
Or do you mean the specific controllers?
The USB controller is a novation launchpad
The USB keyboard is a Roland A-49
I've done the exact same set up over a short distance and it worked fine. I'm just not sure about how stable usb over CAT5 is. It has to be rock solid.
Hello chanies my computer is currently riddled with viruses because of a $2 mouse I bought from A Chinese place so I can't fresh install Windows 10 because the viruses seen that and so I was wondering
>What do I doooo!!!!!! Any advice on how to clean the drive would be helpful
Thanks
Sorry for low res pic
>>54355565
You actually got infection from the firmware on a USB chinkmouse? Where'd you get it? Pics plz. Also show us the malware.
>>54355583
Yes I got it from a retail 2 dollar shop down the street I can't quite say the names of the viruses but there's a lot of weird named processes and a Cms window pops up every time I start my pc and then after 4-5 mins it renders itself unusable because the whole computer freezes up
>>54355565
if you have a hdd, get a huge electromagnet, that should clean all viruses.
if you have an ssd, you have to get rid of it.
What is the video software that stabilizes (creates black background and motion tracks the video) videos like these?

Which one you waiting for, anon?
I'm waiting for the 1080 GTX.
>>54355516
>waiting for Novideo
After AMD burned the hell out of Novideo in the past few months with Ashes of the Singularity as well as performance per watt, I'm waiting for Vega 10 Pro for maximum win.
Definitely Vega, not sure which one quite yet.

Is GNU Icecat a meme?
It feels comfy but not sure if I'm just being impractical and ridiculous.
It's Mozilla/GNU Firefox/Gecko/Icecat.
>>54355420
OP here,
Hmm, I thought it was properly called 'GNUzilla and Icecat'. I shortened it to calling it GNU Icecat out of personal preference. Figured it accomplished the same meaning as the former.

How does it feel to know this fraudster is the king of bitcoin? Some Australian fucktard has appeared on international news claiming he created everything we know today. He has stated "I don't need the attention" while advertising himself publicly defeating the premise that he didn't want the attention.. Can someone so fucked in the head be the creator of the leading currency in the world?

I've got a great deal of respect for you senpai.
Why won't Microsoft just fucking rewrite the entire OS and kernel from scratch? They've been dragging the same kernel and OS for years, while it screams in agony as Microsoft staples on more and more bullshit.
Why work hard when you can do little work and retards will still buy your stale shit.
>>54355172
I don't know, but current Windows resembles the NT/Vista kernel with some awful metro system frankenstined onto it. I don't even know if they have any coders over there smart enough to do it.
>>54355172
Considering Windows is the biggest market share in the consumer and business market which rely on software that might be incompatible if said kernel was rebuilt from scratch instead of using the NT kernel, yeah.
Hey techies...what is this. I found it in a room.
fuck if I know, get the focus correct on your camera so we can actually see it

Not very, but I'm more likely to already have my phone in my hand.
There's a game I play which has a shitton of hidden/arcane mechanics and stats unavailable for players. I would like to hire someone to look into some of these so he can tell me what the code is doing both on the client's side and the game company's too if possible. I imagine that it will be expensive but I don't know what kind of person I'd need to hire for the job. Can you guys point me in the right direction?
And no, I am not looking for scripts, hacks or whatever. I am merely looking into hidden stats to further theorycrafting for this game in particular.
>>54354887
There's two places you can look, client-side code, and the data going between client and server. Stuff only on their server is impossible to analyze.
Also that pic is doing strange things to my boner.
>>54354887
See if you can figure things out by monitoring network traffic. I haven't done it myself, but I know people have done such things before.
And then there's typical reverse engineering shit for the client.
>>54354903
>Stuff only on their server is impossible to analyze.
That's a bummer. What about the packets and the client sided stuff? We're not talking really arcane shit. For example, a weapon on this game says that it scales X stat per level of enhancement. However, it neither states whether it's a fixed linear per level thing or whether it goes higher as the level increases. This makes it a nightmare to figure out how strong some things are and so I am willing to pay hundreds...

Good day nerds, I have come to you for assistance with my broken-ass computer, because everywhere else I have looked has been useless, and you /g/oys are my last hope.
At the moment, my mouse (Wireless), and my headphones (Wired), are currently not functioning, and I can't seem to figure out why they are doing so. About ten minutes ago, they were both doing fine, until suddenly my headphones died, then my mouse about twenty seconds after.
Aside from deleting system 32, what do you nerds suggest I do to fix this? [spoiler]Also holy shit, try typing everything...

The headphones usein USB, right? Are they plugged into an USB hub? If so try to plug them directly into the computer and try different ports.

you're an idiot OP, just save yourself the trouble and delete system32 already.

What's the point?
Qubes OS claims to be the most secure OS in existence.
>Separate VM for everything on your computer
>Every program runs on a VM
>Claims to have superior control over VMs
Is it overkill? Is it worth it? Why bother?

Why don't we extend tailpipe length and use a HEPA filter before releasing it into the atmosphere? Effectively it would reduce the need for faggot "green" cars.

why even bother using fuel when we can use electricity and travel 20 times the distance using the same amount of fuel?
>>54353916
Do you really think that a filter will reduce the greenhouse output of an engine? If you want to reduce it then you need to capture the gasses, meaning that your filter would take up the entire boot (or trunk if you're a yank) and would need to be replaced every few hours of driving. The logistics of that alone would kill any possible benefit.
