Running KitKat & MIUI 7.
I don't even use my phone that much right now, but still this fucking thing is doing something on the background, even without any internet connection!
I wouldn't mind that much if it wasn't consuming all the power for nothing.
Can't even stop this shit or uninstall it or its updates!
Install cyanojejmod. Don't install GAPPS.
Alternately root and remove that shit.
buy an iphone
I just compiled Linux using Visual Studio. Does that mean I'm now running Microsoft/Linux?
>>55540206
GNU Linux is an operating system by itself. It has the GNOME/gtk userland and a kernel named Linux-libre. Many people use the Linux kernel instead of Linux -ibre. So they are running GNU/Linux.
If you are running Linux that has been compiled with Visual Studio you might call it Spyware/Linux because of the telemetry backdoor inside the VS compiler. Or just call it Rajesh/Linux for obvious reasons.
You're running Poo/Loonix
No, you didnt
Which process does the 'windows USER' component run in?
pic unrelated
Is that the drive train of the new Lego Porsche model? I really want one, can you tell me anything about it?
Nigga what?
it has a flappy paddle gearbox and a normal gear stick (to go from drive to neurural to reverse. it has suspention all round and front steering connnected to the steerinf wheel. The rear has a flat 6 working engine connected to the gearbox and rear diiferential. The boot, bonnet, doors, and glovebox open and the mirrors and spoiler can be adjuated by hand. it does not come with motors but I have added a motor to the steering and drivetrain. which has an IR reciever for RC functionality.
Finally my new graphics card arrived.
Who wants to join for a quick round of minecraft.

Hi /g/,
my current summer job requires me to learn Visual Basic. After looking at it for some short time my first question is: Is VisualBasic still used that much and if, why and in what kind of applications?
>>55540145
no
just old systems, c# replaced it
>is VB still used that much
Compared to C#? Much less. But it's still used and MS is still adding features to it.
>what kind of applications?
WinForms/ASP.NET enterprise applications, mainly in places where VB6 applications/programmers exist or existed.
>>55540145
hey
same situation here
have to create some form on excel to mana software inventory
learned it in a day pretty easy stuff if you know some other language
the only othe language I know is Java
ITT: Recent tech purchases
Pic related, building new itx system. Looks excellent and has the features I need.
This keyboard with ML switches so I can take it on my ship in the Navy
>>55540144
dafuq is that hood at the top for?
Is Private Internet Access a decent enough VPN? They seem to be one of the best price wise, but the fact that they are based in the US somewhat worries me.
botnet
>>55541084
Can you elaborate? Maybe provide some evidence?
>>55540124
they have a canary in case there's a gag order.
PIA also just pulled out of Russia because they were going to force them to keep traffic logs.
I needed a college laptop and got pic related. Am I ok to play modern games like DOOM 4?
nope.
>>55540053
That is the wrong graphics card, but yeah, it's probably gonna run at your max resolution on at least high
>>55540053
Richtard ur parents should be disowned you capitalist prick
>get device with 16GB of internal memory + mSD slot
>OS, apps, and app cache fill up internal memory
>mSD nearly empty besides media
>can't install apps on the SD card
Now I see why companies stopped putting them in phones. They're pretty much useless and do nothing but decrease profits when only a small group of people even have the ability/inclination to utilize them
Android 6.0 added a feature called "Adoptable storage" that formats SD cards as ext and actually expands the main internal storage to store apps and everything.
Not many manufacturers enable this option for the SD slot on their official Android images.
>>55540018
>Now I see why companies stopped putting them in phones.
Companies are the ones limiting people by not allowing them to install software to it.
>>55540146
True.
http://www.wired.com/2016/07/phones-fm-chips-radio-smartphone/
>mfw tim cook doesn't want you to listen to the radio on your iphone, so you can't
>mfw that's LITERALLY THE ONLY REASON
>mfw cucked LITERALLY TO DEATH by apple
AFAIK there's a bunch of extra hardware they'd need to include, which is why most Android phones (mostly low-end ones, weirdly) also don't do FM radio.
Apple includes FM radio on some iPods, so they'e not totally opposed.
>>55539963
>there are apps for that
To be fair most radio stations now adays offer internet streaming. So I guess this is good way to save some coin on parts.
>>55539963
as if this is even a big deal compared to the way their hardware and software is locked down
>moot posts the stallman sticky as a joke at the expense of freetards
>people on /g/ ironically joke about how great Linux is and post copypasta
>redditors see this and think /g/ is a pro gnu slash linux board
"Any community that gets its laughs by pretending to be idiots will eventually be flooded by actual idiots who mistakenly believe that they're in good company."
Except we are pro GNU/linux.
The only thing that was ironic was the stallman worship.
Go back to where you came from.
>>55539932
Oh you.
>>55539932
Finally someone not braindead
Retards actually got tricked into installing that shit and Stockholm'd into thinking they like it

and what do you think about huawei honor 5x
I got one of these suckers for free from work.
I already have a home server setup for Plex, backups, seedbox, etc.
Any use for this guy? i7 and 16gb RAM, so it's got a decent amount of power.
>>55539841
throw it away you already got plex, backups, seedbox
>>55539841
>i7 and 16gb RAM
Renderfarm node or virtualization
>>55539871
I was looking into virtualization - assuming I want something like vmware vsphere instead of just installing VMs via virtual box or something similar?
Why isn't there a CNC machine craze like the 3d printing craze?
I'm baffled, cnc milling has many pluses compared to 3d printing, material selection, precision, etc.
Sure 3d printing has pluses too but if I had to say, 3d printed stuff reflects a lot on this generation: weak, fragile, and tacky as hell.
Tldr: why aren't CNC machines more popular? The tech has been around since forever.
>>55539816
Not /g/ related. This is now a video card thread. Pic related
>>55539816
Operating a mil requires a degree of technical knowledge, its not just set and forget. Certain materials need to be cut at different speeds or you deal with tool heads breaking, or localized hardening on a part that will break while you're cutting it.
3D printing is just a meme for normies who have no real skill.
what switches are you using google chrome with?
I am using this and this is near perfect for 2 cores and integrated gpu
chrome.exe" --enable-native-gpu-memory-buffers --flag-switches-begin --enable-display-list-2d-canvas --enable-experimental-canvas-features --enable-gpu-rasterization --javascript-harmony --disable-zero-copy --gpu-rasterization-msaa-sample-count=2 --num-raster-threads=2 --disable-overlay-scrollbar --disable-smooth-scrolling --enable-features=V8Ignition --disable-features=AutomaticTabDiscarding --flag-switches-end
>--flag-switches-begin
>--flag-switches-end
What the fuck, why would they do this
>>55539750
>google chrome
Enabling JS harmony might not be a good idea oerformance wise. With thst polyfills won't fire and won't compile your code to more optimized ECMAScript 5.
